The Richard Wagner Complete Edition presents the composer's entire output for the first time in a reliable form. The conductor Michael Balling, in the early years of the 20th century, attempted to make Wagner's work more accessible for research and performance, but the edition only reached 10 volumes - some with grave shortcomings - and was discontinued after Balling's death in 1925. A further attempt at a complete edition by Otto Strobel was abandoned at the preliminary stages.This third attempt at a complete edition will be the first scholarly, critical edition, based on an evaluation of all the accessible source materials and the latest findings of serious Wagner research. As the edition is also intended for practical performance, the musical text has been kept free of philological insertions; these are listed in the appendices of each volume in the Critical Commentary. Numerous, partly unpublished works - some relatively unknown - and variant versions are published here for the first time. The edition presents authentic texts for Wagner specialists and researchers and critically based performing materials. Contrary to widely held opinions, even the well-known works of Wagner are not necessarily available in reliable editions. The genesis, history and performances directed by Wagner himself are extensively documented so as to present as complete an image as possible of Wagner's compositional intentions.

This is a sequel to the highly successful Child Prodigy Composers volume. In this second volume, the majority of the pieces are works recommended for pupils in the upper music school classes, and indeed some can be used successfully in secondary level teaching as well. Here too, most of the compositions were written before the age of 14 - it is amazing what highly developed piano technique some of these young composers already possessed at the age of 13 or 14!In addition to Muzio Clementi's A flat Major Sonata, the Allemandes by Carl Maria von Weber, Schubert's surprisingly mature C minor fantasia, the prodigiously talented Clara Schumann's two polonaises, Mussorgsky'sbrilliant polka, a sensitive waltz by Scriabin and Borodin's showy (but not difficult) four-hand polka, this volume also contains works by a Hungarian composer: the hitherto unpublished mazurkas by Ern Dohnányi, written around ages 11-12.

Dies ist die Fortsetzung der Erfolgsausgabe Wunderkinder als Komponisten (EMBZ14773). In diesem zweiten Band sind mehrheitlich Werke für die höheren Klassen der Musikschulen vertreten, manche Stücke können auch in der Mittelstufe eingesetzt werden. Bemerkenswert ist, dass ein Großteil der Werke mit unter 14 komponiert wurden. This suite with a four-part instrumentation is comprised of three cheerful, imaginative movements: firstly Yellow Duck Shuffle, a bluesy, swinging section; next comes Purple Panda Polka, a lively, modern polka in which a funny dancing pair of pandas take centre stage; and finally the third movement entitled Pink Donkey Boogie is a gentle boogie-woogie. The musical motifs are played in all four parts giving every instrumentalist a chance to take the lead.

Deze vierstemmige suite bestaat uit drie vrolijke delen die stuk voor stuk tot de verbeelding spreken. De Yellow Duck Shuffle is een swingend, bluesachtig deel waarin het ritmische gekwaak van een jong eendje te horen is. De Purple Panda Polka is een snelle, moderne polka waarin een grappige paarse pandabeer al dansend de hoofdrol speelt. Het derde deel, Pink Donkey Boogie, is een rustige boogiewoogie met als terugkerend motief het herkenbare ‘ia’ van een swingende ezel. In de gehele suite lopen de melodische thema’s door alle vier de stemmen heen, zodat elke partij op haar beurt de boventoon voert.

Diese vierstimmige Suite besteht aus drei fröhlichen, fantasieanregenden Sätzen: Auf den Yellow Duck Shuffle, einen swingender, bluesartigen Satz, folgt die Purple Panda Polka, eine flotte, moderne Polka, in der ein drolliges, tanzendes Panda-Pärchen die Hauptrolle spielt. Der dritte Satz mit dem Titel Pink Donkey Boogie ist ein ruhiger Boogie Woogie. Die musikalischen Themen wechseln durch alle vier Stimmen durch, sodass jede Stimme einmal führen darf.

Cette suite en quatre parties se compose de trois phrases pétillantes de fantaisie. Yellow Duck Shuffle propose un motif oscillant entre le blues et le swing. Purple Panda Polka offre une moderne polka qui permettra un drôle de couple de pandas d’évoluer sur la piste de danse. Enfin, Pink Donkey Boogie, troisième et dernier mouvement, ramène le calme au coeur de la joyeuse troupe avec un thème boogie woogie résolument modéré. Cette charmante suite a été composée afin de mettre l’ensemble des pupitres de votre orchestre en valeur, car chacun aura, son tour, la possibilité de jouer le thème principal.

Yellow Duck Shuffle, un movimento in stile swing e blues, e una polka molto moderna (Purple Panda Polka), sono i primi due movimenti di questa suite gioiosa, perfetta per stimolare la fantasia. The present collection consists of twelve of La Hache’s piano works, several of which are settings of airs that were well-known popularly at the time of composition. Unlike New Orleans native Louis Moreau Gottschalk, who made his career abroad and sided with the Union during the War Between the States, La Hache remained a loyal resident of his adopted city and was a staunch Confederate. Several of the pieces in the present collection were dedicated to units who were fighting for the Confederacy during the War, and all reflect his love of the South and of Southern culture
