This suite is based on the fairy tale The Bronze Pig by Hans Christian Andersen. This is a story about a boy who wants to be a painter and a pig made of bronze. This pig, in Florence town square, is a bronze statue with clear water pouring from its mouth. Legend has it that when an innocent child sits on its back, that the pig can run. In three movements; Flying Dreams in a Starlight Sky, La Via Porta Rossa and Twilight on the Arno River this work is a highly descriptive storytelling piece that will be equally enjoyed by young and old alike. Definitely one not to be snorted at!Kumiko Tanaka entführt uns in ihrer Suite für Blasorchester in die Märchenwelt von Hans Christian Andersen.

Christmas is the glory of God revealed to the whole universe using the simplest of means: a young couple, a manger, and onlookers ranging from barn animals and local shepherds to magi from the East. And, of course, a newborn child, the Son of God, Emmanuel. It is the story of a child of promise, a child of love, magnificent in its simplicity, and powerful in its message of salvation. So it is with Behold the Glory! With four narrators guiding the story, Stan Pethel captures both the understated innocence of the moment and the awesomeness of the glory of Christmas in music. Ranging from a serene and touching lullaby to a bursting forth of joy, this wholly original work truly celebrates the season and God's gift of love to us all. Performance time: approximately 35 minutes.

The piece is part of the ballet Wild Swans, choreographed by Meryl Tankard at the Sydney Opera House in 2002, based on the fairy tale The Wild Swans by Hans Christian Andersen. Originally scored for soprano and orchestra, Eliza Aria introduces Princess Elisa and expresses her pure soul, innocence and belief in the goodness of the world: Without saying a word, she must weave stinging nettles into cloth to save her enchanted brothers. The short, enchanting vocalise is perhaps Elena Kats-Chernin's best-known creation and went around the world as music in a promotional video on YouTube. It is now available in numerous versions for `ifferent instruments and instrumentations.

Sixpence None the Richer's most famous hit is an enduring slice of swoony guitar pop. Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance, silver moon sparkling. Teen singers will love the sweet romantic imagery, while their teachers appreciate the innocence of refreshing lyrics. This well-crafted arrangement lends the most-memorable instrumental motive to the voices, and shares the satisfying 90s pop harmonies with the entire choir. An airy medium-tempo ballad with plenty of heart.
