| Concerto In C For Piano And Symphonic Wind Orch. Concert band [Score and Parts] Beriato Music
Concert Band/Harmonie and Piano SKU: BT.BMP8091417 Composed by Leroy Ande...(+)
Concert Band/Harmonie and Piano SKU: BT.BMP8091417 Composed by Leroy Anderson. Arranged by Jörg Murschinski. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2008. Beriato Music #BMP8091417. Published by Beriato Music (BT.BMP8091417). A lot is known about the American composer Leroy Anderson. This son of Swedish immigrants played the piano, organ, accordion, trombone, tuba and double bass. He spoke several languages fluently and graduated from Harvard with first-class honours. While on military service, the army also commissioned him to write a manual on Icelandic grammar. He already started writing musical arrangements as a student, and from his 30th year arranged and composed for the Boston Pops Orchestra. Such melodiesas Serenata, The Typewriter, Sleigh Ride and Buglers Holiday made him world famous. His best-known work, Blue Tango, reached number one in the US charts in 1952, and it sold more than a million copies. In 1975, a year after hisdeath, he was given a star at the Walk of Fame in Hollywood. Most of his works last no longer than three minutes, about the maximum length of a single at that time. One work that lasts longer is his 1953 Piano Concerto in C for piano and orchestra. The first performance was in Chicago, conducted by the composer and with Eugene List at the piano. However, after three performances he was no longer happy with the work and withdrew it. He always intended to revise it, but never got round to it. Itwas only in 1989 that the Anderson family decided to republish the work. This three-part composition is on the one hand characterised by a careless elegance, but on the other one can hear the influence of Rachmaninoff, Copland, Gershwin, and evenBeethoven and Mozart, as well as the Viennese classics.Anderson used the sonata form for the first movement. It ends with a cadenza that carries us on into the second part (in e minor). The third part is a typically cheerful American folk dance in2/4 time, a so-called Hoe Down, with a lilting, lyrical passage as its middle section. At the end comes a solo passage followed by a rapid close. In this piano concerto, Anderson combines a rigidly classical form of composition with simple andappealing themes and elements from light music. So this work is a perfect synthesis of light music and what is called serious music, in the same way as Gershwins Rhapsody in Blue. A work that can be played equally well in a concerthall, at an open-air concert or even a pop concert.

Piano SKU: SP.ME1032 Composed by Scott Joplin. Solo; Ragtime. Score. Santorella Publications #ME1032. Published by Santorella Publications (SP.ME1032). ISBN 9781585607440. The Masterpiece Edition series, published exclusively by Santorella Publications, is a collection of original piano works, as well as challenging arrangements and transcriptions designed for the experienced to advanced pianist. The series is meticulously engraved and printed on heavy cover stock and quality paper to last for generations. With original works from the great masters, Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, and alike, as well as arrangements and transcriptions from some of the greatest works of all time, these Masterpiece Editions are sure to be popular favorites while enhancing the repertoire of most any serious pianist. In this case, we are extremely proud to release the original, unedited, Masterpiece Edition of Joplin's Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag as a 2 in 1 sheet in its purest form. Our ultimate goal is to emphasize the necessity of exceptional quality in printed sheet music. Time has heard the strains of a myriad of musical styles. Some styles liven with age while others fade. The same is true of the composers themselves; some are regarded as brilliant masters from the beginning of their lives while others are praised only posthumously. Endurance is the ultimate test. Scott Joplin endured great injustices and criticism, yet he remains the King of Ragtime. We remember the genius of Scott Joplin by publishing The Entertainer and Maple Leaf Rag in this 2 in 1 original edition. Joplin's most popular rag, The Entertainer reached high acclaim in 1973 as a recognizable theme from the film classic, The Sting. This Academy Award-Winning film was solely responsible for the resurgence of ragtime in general, but more specifically brought renewed interest in the works of Scott Joplin. The Maple Leaf Rag, unlike so many others, became quite popular during Joplin's lifetime, so much so that it was the first sheet of music to sell over one million copies. We are pleased to combine these two rags in one as a special part of our Masterpiece Ragtime Selections. This newly engraved edition is clean, sharp, distinct, and accurate. An absolute pleasure to read as each crisp note seems to pop off the page. $6.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks

$9.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks

- In contrast to other beginner methods, The Sassmannshaus Tradition progresses swiftly by introducing advanced techniques in rudimentary form, such as shifting and varied bow strokes.
- Ensemble playing is encouraged from the very beginning.
- The method is suitable for single instruction as well as for group and class lessons.
- The large print notes and text as well as many colorful illustrations are particularly child-friendly and very attractive to pre-school children and school children alike.
- The substantial volumes contain comprehensive material and carefully calibrated learning curves. They keep children curious and interested for many months and years.
