These three delightful preludes are based on familiar hymn tunes. They are written mostly for the hands with just a few pedal notes, so they could be learned by those trained mostly on the piano. The style is one of grace and subtle variety as the harmonic changes are few and significant. The Fughetta is of particular interest with its rhythmic theme. These pieces could be used as brief preludes or offertories for any season.
