In America, created by Joel Lindsey and arranged by Daniel Semsen, is the new patriotic celebration of the freedom we enjoy as Americans, and the rich spiritual heritage that is ours. Being able to call ourselves Americans is a privilege that we must cherish, an honor we must carry, and a gift we should never take for granted. We must always remember the sacrifice and service of all those who gave so much, real life heroes who made living in freedom in this great land possible—a nation where we can celebrate our liberty and worship our God freely. Filled with songs of perseverance, allegiance, gratitude and commitment, In America will light fires of patriotism and thankfulness in every listener through songs with familiar, timeless lyrics and new, compelling songs from Joel Lindsey. From We Are the Free, a song dedicated to the brave soldiers who fight to make us free, to the scripture-inspired lyrics of America on It’s Knees, and the powerful medley of Battle Hymn of the Republic with My Country, ’Tis of Thee and America, the Beautiful, In America reminds us of what makes this country so beautiful and what keeps us standing… brave individuals who are willing to fight for and protect our freedom, the sovereignty, glory and truth of our God, and our liberty to worship Him wholeheartedly in this country that we call home.

Giovanni Podera: Fantasia (In memoriam JoaquÃn Rodrigo)Marco Reghezza: Nana EstrelladaMarco Simoni: Junto a RodrigoMarco Smaili: Fronda de la tarde (Homenaje a JoaquÃn Rodrigo)Paolo Ugoletti: Fuga a 4 vociFollowing the successful publication of Homenaje a Rodrigo (2015), containing four pieces by Alessandro Spazzoli – one of which was performed in the presence of the composer’s daughter, Cecilia Rodrigo, during her visit to the International Convention in Alessandria –, here is the second volume. It contains more tributes to Rodrigo written on my input by five well-known Italian and Spanish composers, two of whom are also guitarists and have therefore written the fingering for their own pieces.Giovanni Podera plunges us into a typically Rodrigo-like atmosphere with his evocative Fantasia, while the following three compositions are full of direct quotations from pieces also for guitar by the great composer from Valencia. Thus, Marco Simoni, in his expressive Junto a Rodrigo – which also provides the title to the volume – plays with themes taken from Junto al Generalife and from Dos piezas caballerescas for a cello ensemble as well as hinting at reminiscences of Tiento antiguo. As for Marco Smaili, in his impressionistic Fronda de la tarde, he evokes quite evidently Zarabanda lejana and Invocación y Danza, but there are more hidden references to Caminos de Santiago and even to the very famous Concierto de Aranjuez. Marco Reghezza builds his heart-breaking Nana estrellada on a sequence of chords used by Rodrigo in the fantasia ¡Que buen caminito!. On the other hand, there are no direct quotations and echoes of Rodrigo’s way of writing in the Fuga a quattro voci by Paolo Ugoletti. However it was Rodrigo himself who constructed four-part imitative passages for guitar in Pasacalle and in the Ricercare of the Fantasia para un Gentilhombre. The close polyphony of the piece by Ugoletti may be considered as a tribute to this kind of craft shown by Rodrigo who, like Ugoletti, was able to write such dense and idiomatic counterpoint without being a guitar-player.I am pleased that this volume comes out in the imminence of the 20th anniversary of the disappearance of the illustrious Spanish composer who gave so much to the musicians – and not only to them.(Piero Bonaguri)Muchas gracias por este emotivo y excelente musical homenaje a mi padre. An exciting new original march in classic American march form and style. Composer John Paternak has captured the essence of the great marches of Sousa and Fillmore in a new tuneful and fresh sound traditional march. The trio melody is essential catchy and the march is worthy of use as a solid warm-up march for festival by advancing level concert bands.I wrote this piece for my friend Ralph Meyer and the members of the Western Reserve Community Band, who are always there for me when I need a group to read or record one of my compositions. I would also like to thank Larry Clark for helping this march come to life. There are a lot of sudden dynamic changes in this piece. It is crucial that there is dynamic contrast, so the piece can be performed effectively. There are also several instances with contrast in articulation styles. Make sure your group is playing short notes different from the legato passages. At m. 87 during the second time through, I have made the tempo jump to 152. Feel free to take it faster if your group is capable of it.

The convent of St. Florian was the place of work of the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner. It was in the rural setting of this convent with its marvelloaus church that Bruckner composed many of his great symphonies. St. Florian Choral is Thomas Doss’ modest tribute to this great master whose music has left its permanent mark on the composer’s musical life.
