In setting Richard Dehmel's poem âVerklärte Nachtâ (Transfigured Night) in his op. 4, the young Arnold Schönberg pursued the intention, as he himself said, of âattempting those new forms in chamber music which have been created in orchestral music based on a poetic ideaâ. Composed in September 1899 in a few weeks whilst he was on holiday, the Sextet incorporates the ideas of the symphonic poem in its programmatic character and its one-movement form, and also displays late Romantic traits in its opulent tone. Already at its premiere in 1902 in Vienna, the special quality of the work was recognised, characterised by âpeculiar sound combinations and groundbreaking figuresâ, a work which was to become a true modern classic in the 20th century. For this Urtext edition, both the autograph score and the 1905 first edition have been consulted, as well as Schönberg's personal copies which are preserved in Vienna and contain numerous markings by the composer.

For SSATB and organ Written in 1852 in the wake of S.S.Wesley's groundbreaking Service in E this is an equally ambitious work with an important obbligato organ part. With only one change of tempo, it has an unflagging forward momentum. An ideal work for those occasions when a large-scale, expansive setting is wanted.

Unparalleled in scope, this groundbreaking series for E_Alto and B_Tenor offers a single collection of Repertoire and supporting materials written or arranged specifically for saxophone. With Repertoire spanning from the Baroque to contemporary eras, Recordings, Etudes, Technique, and Orchestral Excerpts, this comprehensive series serves as a balanced and organized pedagogical resource from the beginner to advanced levels of study. Nine progressive volumes of Repertoire expose students to original works and arrangements of diverse styles from W.A. Mozart to Violet Archer, with selected works by notable jazz artist Paul Desmon (Take Five), and living composer Phil Woods. Each level provides opportunities to explore Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary works, with original, unaccompanied selections from Levels 5 through 8 that use extended techniques such as multiphonics, key clicks, and bisbigliando. Earlier works pre-dating the origin of the saxophone have been carefully arranged with consideration of the unique quality of the instrument. Exposure to these works help to develop musicianship and an understanding of tonality, creating well-rounded and versatile performers. Selections written for both E_Alto and B_Tenor include piano accompaniments that function with both instruments.Eb Saxophone:Rhythmic Repertoire:The Birch Tree - Traditional Russian, arr. Edited by the Deutscher Musikrat (German Music Council) with Richard Mailander and Kord MichaelisCatholic and Protestant churches are familiar with the tradition that in times of crisis, new works are composed to comfort the faithful, and are performed in worship. Following in this tradition, the project Orgelmusik in Zeiten von Corona (Organ Music in Times of Corona) was devised. 17 new compositions were commissioned which reflect Corona times, creatively confront the past and the present, and will enrich the repertoire of organ music in a lasting way.The 17 compositions depict a wide range of styles including avant-garde, jazz and classical, and some refer to music from previous eras and church music traditions. They are conceived for different levels of difficulty, are for 2 or 3-manual organs, and last between four and ten minutes. The Gibson Les Paul Standard 1958-1960 is one of the greatest designs to emerge from Gibson. At first, it was little appreciated and quickly discontinued. However, the UK blues explosion of the 1960s changed everything and these guitars would begin to shape the music for generations to come. The USA quickly picked up this new direction and players such as Mike Bloomfield and Duane Allman then used the Bursts to great effect. Demand for the guitar began in earnest in the 1970s and they now fetch astronomical prices. The Gibson Custom Shop is working diligently on many aspects of their historic Les Pauls bringing them as close to the originals as possible. Not only did the players make this the most collectable guitar in the vintage market but collectors and weekend players played a huge role in its cimb to the top. Visually, it is probably one of the most beautiful solid body guitars ever made. Burst Believer V Serial Number Guide is a thank you to all the fantastic supporters of the Burst Believers series. Features gorgeous full-color photos throughout of guitars and some of their famous owners, including Joe Walsh, Keith Richards, Peter Frampton, Gordon Kennedy, Vince Gill, and many more.
