Guitar - intermediate to advanced SKU: M7.GHE-906 Spain to Mitteleuropa. Edited by Stefano Grondona. Arranged by Miguel Llobet. This edition: Saddle-wire stitching. Sheet music. 56 pages. MDS (Music Distribution Services) #GHE 906. Published by MDS (Music Distribution Services) (M7.GHE-906). ISBN 9783890449067. English. The third volume of four volumes of Llobet's masterful transcriptions for solo guitar. His transcription of the Tchaikovsky Mazurka Op. 40 no. 5 is a brilliant achievement. Cécile Chaminade's charming Aire de Ballet no. 3 from 1925 for piano in Llobet's transcription is a first publication and a most welcome addition to the guitar repertoire by a famous composer. The Berceuse by Villar is a first publication of the version that Llobet used to perform, which is quite different to the UME edition. As a matter of interest, note that our 15-volume edition of Llobet's collected works includes no fewer than 60 first publications. $26.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks

Clarinet, Piano SKU: PR.700613460 Composed by Miguel Del Aguila. Peermusic Classical #70061-346. Published by Peermusic Classical (PR.700613460). UPC: 884088946142. Written in 1998, Pacific Serenade is a “peaceful serenade:” serenade as in: romantic, quasi improvised music which should be sung at night under the stars. The main “singer” here is the clarinet. In general the music is extremely quiet, delicate, sensuous and sentimental. The sensuousness is created by Latin song elements especially the nostalgic Brazilian folk song, which is at times combined with Blues style melody and harmony. The string quartet has a technically expressively challenging part which is not merely the accompaniment to the clarinet, but rather it is responsible for setting the mood in which the clarinet sings. This is Aguila’s opus 59 and it was commissioned by Pacific Serenades Ensemble of California who premiered the work in 1998. Of course the ensemble's name inspired the name of this work as well as its mood. In an age of boom boxes, media bombardment of information and pop culture becoming increasingly aggressive, boisterous and violent, I felt the need to write just the opposite… to show once more that less is more. -- Miguel del Aguila. $19.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks

Guitar - intermediate SKU: M7.GHE-917 Cádiz from Suite española op. 47/4. Composed by Isaac Albeniz. Edited by Stefano Grondona. This edition: Saddle-wire stitching. Sheet music. First Publication. Op. 47/4. 8 pages. MDS (Music Distribution Services) #GHE 917. Published by MDS (Music Distribution Services) (M7.GHE-917). ISBN 9783890449173. English. Thanks to Stefano Grondona, this unknown and unedited transcription by Tárrega in G major of Albéniz' Cádiz, known widely as the Célebre Serenata Española has just been identified in a manuscript copied by Miguel Llobet, probably while he was still Tárrega's pupil. This beautiful and subtle transcription is not overcomplicated to play, Tárrega did not try to do everything, as some later transcribers have attempted to do. The melody sings and the accompaniment is subtly always there. The tuning with 5th string to G, and 6th to D, is no hindrance - on the contrary it is a boon. We are not aware of any published version of this work in G major, and this particular version has never been published until now. We are delighted to make it available for the first time in a new scholarly edition prepared from Llobet's meticulously accurate manuscript, a copy of which is reproduced in the edition. $12.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks
| Preludios para Tárrega. An Anthology of Contemporary Music for Guitar (Calandín, Montero, Reghezza, Smaili, Spazzoli, Tagliamacco, Ugoletti) Guitar Ut Orpheus

Guitar SKU: UT.CH-227 Edited by Piero Bonaguri. Saddle stitching. Piero Bonaguri Collection. Classical. Ut Orpheus #CH 227. Published by Ut Orpheus (UT.CH-227). ISBN 9790215324145. 9 x 12 inches. Emilio Calandin: Piccola sfumatura Claudia Montero: Lagrimas de Buenos Aires Marco Reghezza: Como Preludio Marco Smaili: Preludio Alessandro Spazzoli: Preludio in Do maggiore Roberto Tagliamacco: Prelude sur le nom de Tarrega Paolo Ugoletti: Prelude sur le nom de Tarrega
Having been invited several times onto the jury of the prestigious Certamen Tarrega in Benicasim, I thought I would involve a few composers in a gift to the father of the modern guitar. So I asked the composers to write a Prelude of the kind that Tarrega wrote and which count among his most significant compositions. These Preludes for Tarrega, all written between August and November 2015, are very different from each other. The common feature, however, between these and the Preludes by Tarrega is their brevity, an average level of performance difficulty and guaranteed easy listening, even when written in a non-tonal language (like the meditative and melancholy piece by Emilio Calandin and the one by Marco Smaili, with its Impressionistic feel reminding one of Tarrega's most famous pupil, Miguel Llobet). In some Preludes (the ones by Paolo Ugoletti, Roberto Tagliamacco, Claudia Montero) the reference to Lagrima, one of Tarrega's most famous Preludes, is evident in form, title and some citations. Ugoletti and Tagliamacco work well and expressively on harmony and counterpoint, while the Argentinian Claudia Montero links Tarrega to a heartbreaking Buenos Aires... In Alessandro Spazzoli there is rather more a connection with Tarrega's sense of melody and deep simplicity, while Marco Reghezza remembers ironically what was brewing in European music when Tarrega was alive: in fact, his Como Preludio goes across the 24 keys - and even a reference to Wagner's Tristan raises its head... I am delighted for this volume to come out at the time of the fiftieth edition of the Certamen Tarrega. (Piero Bonaguri). $14.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks
