The Blues is a well-known style of popular music. The name does not come out of thin air. After all, the term ‘blues’ refers to a state of mind: with the sentence ‘I got the blues’ someone means they are in low spirits. The blues originate in the melancholic music that the slaves in the southern United States made to relieve their depressing circumstances to some extent. This new concert work makes use of ‘blue notes’ (the flattened 3rd and 7th notes of the scale) which give this exciting work its blues sound.Roland Kernen erinnert in seinem Stück Blues Forever an den Ursprung des Blues in der melancholischen Musik der schwarzamerikanischen Sklaven in den Südstaaten der USA. Die Musik drückte das tiefe Leid aus, diente aber zugleich als Trost und Stärkung. Charakteristisch für diesen Musikstil ist damals wie heute die Verwendung so genannter blue notes“, die auch in Kernens authentischem, bewegenden Werk häufig auftauchen. Le blues s’est façonné dans les plantations du Sud des États-Unis. C’est dans cette musique mélancolique que les esclaves tentèrent d’apaiser quelque peu les souffrances d’une vie de misère. Le blues devient alors source de consolation. Parmi les éléments qui caractérisent ce genre musical, on trouve les blue notes, composantes fondatrices du style, qui apparaissent également dans cette composition de Roland Kernen.

Zo is Antonio’s Boogie gebaseerd op een motief uit De Vier Jaargetijdenvan Antonio Vivaldi. In Ludwig’s Blues gebruikte hij de eerste vier tonen uit de Vijfde Symfonie van Ludwig van Beethoven. Tenslotte is Amadeus Rag een knipoog naar het zogenaamde hoornkwintet van Wolfgang AmadeusMozart. Wij wensen u veel plezier bij het herontdekken van deze ‘meester’werken!Das Wort Maestro“ in diesem Titel steht für gleich drei große Meisterkomponisten, deren Themen Eric J. Antonio’s Boogie s’inspire d’une ligne mélodique des Quatre Saisons de Vivaldi. Ludwig’s Blues s’appuie sur les quatre premières notes de la Cinquième Symphonie de Beethoven. Finalement, Wolfgang’s Rag développe des motifs de quintes aux cors qui font référence l’univers sonore du maître Mozart.

In 1975, a new dance form took the Latin-Amercan areas of the Bronx by storm. After observing the frenzy of the dancers in that area, Van McCoy composed a melody that successfully took its basis from Latin and R&B. The Hustle was an instant success and made a large contribution to the evolution of disco music in the 1970's. Your band will not be able to resist the fantastic groove and drive of this evergreen disco hit, fantastically arranged by Lorenzo Bocci.Im Jahr 1975 schrieb Van McCoy, inspiriert von einem neuen Tanzstil der lateinamerikanischen Jugend in der Bronx, eine prickelnde Melodie, in welcher der unwiderstehliche Latin-Beat und Rhythm and Blues mit der verführerischen Einladung Do it, do the hustle“ verschmolz. Das Lied und der Tanzstil eroberten die Diskotheken auf der ganzen Welt. Lorenzo Boccis Bearbeitung ist ebenso packend wie das Original. Ihr Publikum wird die Tanzlust packen! En 1975, une nouvelle forme de danse faisait fureur parmi la jeunesse latinoaméricaine des quartiers sud du Bronx. Après avoir observé la frénésie des danseurs, Van McCoy compose une mélodie crépitante qui évolue sur des éléments de musique latine et de R&B. The Hustle connut un immense succès et contribua grandement l’évolution du disco qui, d’une simple musique branchée jouée le samedi soir, allait devenir une philosophie de vie dans les années 1970. Personne ne résistera l’enthousiasme déclenché par les rythmes de ce tube toujours d’actualité.
