Thomas Baron Pitfield (1903-1999) was a polymath and one of the last of the generation of English composers which came to prominence after the Second World War. Along with his contemporaries such as Michal Tippet andAlan Rawsthorne he helped to revitalise English classical music following the deaths of Elgar Holst and Delius. Apart from composing a vast amount of music most of which has now sadly been forgotten he was also an accomplishedbookbinder calligrapher artist poet cabinet maker and teacher. Tramping Song is a traditional folk song. It has been scored for TTBB Male Voice chorus.

Turtle Creek Series-This piece has been in the standard solo repertoire since the 1930s when it was composed. Tim Seelig's arrangement allows each section of the chorus to share in the beauty of the melody while still contributing to the choralsections of the piece. “When I Have Sung My Songs to You” is an incredibly beautiful love song which may be interpreted as being sung to an individual or to a group of people – the audience. This makes for amoving finale or encore for any concert.
