Carl Nielsen (1865-1931) was a Danish musician, often seen as his country's greatest composer, who now occupies a distinguished platform in the national and cultural heritage of his native land. The Carl Nielsen Edition is an independent project which aims to publish all of his finished works, in the version last approved by the composer. The Quartet for Strings in G minor (Op. 13) is the earliest of Nielsen's four published quartets, having been composed in 1887-1888, but it was not published for over a decade. It comprises four movements: Allegro Energico - Andante Amoroso - Scherzo. Allegro Molto - Finale. Allegro (Inquieto) .

According to Geza Szilvay, the Colourstrings (r) method can make a violin player of almost anyone with motivation. The key to maintaining musical culture lies with the teacher. The Colourstrings (r) is a teaching method developed by Geza and Csaba Szilvay. Themethod is ideal for preschool beginners and can be used effectively in instrumental teaching throughout the school years. It createsan environment in which singing, playing games and instrument live side by side, for the happiness of the child. The Handbook for Teachers and Parents brings together the entire Colourstrings(r) series for the violin. The Handbook guides the teachers and parents through books A-F and Yellow Pages I-III, offering expert advice and methodological support to teaching in Colourstrings(r) method. The method makes use of colourful teaching materials and supports learning by appealing to many senses. Founded on the principles ofZoltan Kodaly, Colourstrings (r) develops the capacity for internal listening so that the child learns to visualize the notes heard and to aurilize the notes on the page. The method has been fostered by ESTA, ASTA, AUSTA, ISME, NMPU and IKS. The Colourstrings(r) approach developed by the Szilvay brothers has gained an international reputation and is now taught all over the world. A number of special Colourstrings(r) institutions - schools, centres and societies - have been established in several European countries in order to implement and further this child-centred teaching concept.

The volume G of the popular Colourstrings violin tutors by Géza Szilvay studies every position of the violin in a separate volume: G1 the second position, G2 the third position, G3 the fourth position, G4 the fifth position and the last one, G5, the high positions (sixth and seventh). These books form an all-embracing, rich collection of shifting exercises, position playing studies, excerpts from the literature, chamber music (mainly duos), and performing pieces, piano accompaniment offered as a separate publication (Books G1, G2 & G2 supplement 9790550116467; Books G3 & G4 9790550116931 and Book G5 9790550116948).The extensive Book G5 - Sixth and Seventh Position (9790550116948) follows the key principles of Colourstrings methodology - the use of natural harmonics and constant developing of inner hearing for instance - but it can be fully utilized also without any previous use or knowledge about the Colourstrings method.
