An original composition Composer Cynthia Dobrinski takes inspiration for this original composition from I John 5:4 and Hebrews 12:2 (the faith chapter). The introduction, like faith, begins small and then grows. The melody is almost march-like, but more emotional. A section of marted chords may be interpreted to show the tenacious spirit faith must take. The ending is triumphant and rung at fff. Written in C Major, measures total 94.

Original composition The composer writes: Consecration is written for the Youth Bells of a church that burned to the ground one fateful night. Through the efforts of its members and staff, the church was rebuilt and then consecrated in May of 1997. It is my hope that this piece reflects not only the initial terror and grief but, most importantly, the eventual triumph, rejoicing and thankgiving of the members of the congregation as they worked through a rebuilding not only of their church but of their faith and spirit..

Suspended bells and lyrical handchime lines open to provide the tender backdrop to these melodies. The piece eventually grows to a full treatment of the hymns in the middle section and winds down with a contemplative close to reflect on a life of work and commitment.
