‘Four Easy Dances’ is a four-part suite from Gobelin’s ’Flexy Band Collection’. This series is meant for starter ensembles, i.e. youth orchestras which may not have the full range of instruments available yet. Therefore, it is possible to combine various instruments. ‘Four Easy Dances’ comes from the ‘Flexy 3 Series’ and can in principle be played by only three instruments, completed with three percussion instruments. ‘Four Easy Dances’ consists of: 1. Hop, Skip and Jump, 2. Little Polka, 3. Spanish Dance (castanets are obligatory) and finally 4. Tango.‘Four Easy Dances’ is een vierdelige suite uit de Gobelin ’Flexy Band Collection’. In 1828 Berlioz wrote the Huit scènes de Faust. The work was soon withdrawn but almost twenty years later each of the eight scenes found a place in the Lgende dramatique La damnation de Faust dedicated to Franz Liszt. The first part of the Damnation exposes the figure of Faust and has an introductory nature. From the second part onwards, the course of action is largely based on Goethe’s drama.Contrasting characters and dramatic effect are of central importance in understanding Berlioz’s musical thought and his compositional process. Magic and fairy tale, incantations and ghosts, have been the ever-recurring themes of opera since the Baroque. It is precisely this fantasy in Berlioz's Faust, the “Opra de Concert en Quatre actsâ€, which comes very close to the spirit of Goethe's presentation.

The Czech composer Zdenek Fibich (1850–1900) had a keen interest in classical German literature. It therefore comes as no surprise that he had already set songs to texts by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe while still a student at the Leipzig Conservatory.Between 1865 and 1871 he composed 16 songs on texts by this famous German author for voice and piano. Ten of them have survived: the song “An den Mondâ€, dating from 1869, and nine further songs from Goethe’s novel “Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre†were composed immediately after Fibich’s return to Prague in 1871. All ten now appear here in a single-volume Urtext edition edited by Barbora Kubecková.

Motets (BWV 118, 225-231) account for a rather small work group within the great number of sacred vocal works composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Only six motets have survived; their most striking feature being their mostly double-chorus texture, often without a verifiable instrumental or continuo accompaniment.
