The New Mozart Edition offers researchers a musicologically unimpeachable text based on all the available sources (first and foremost Mozart's autograph manuscripts). At the same time, it also serves as an aid to authentic performances. The principal Series I to IX, containing Mozart's actual oeuvre, appeared between 1956 and 1991. They are regarded as a supreme achievement of Mozart scholarship in our time; modern performances of Mozart's music are unthinkable without them. The important supplementary volumes shed fresh and illuminating light on neglected aspects of Mozart's creative work, such as his activities as a teacher or as an arranger of other composer's works.

Mozart's last symphony offered editor Cliff Eisen a clear-cut basis for his work: its autograph score is the sole authentic source to have survived. In order to remain as close as possible to the performance practice of Mozart's time, the editor has tried to keep as much as possible of the composer's idiosyncratic notation style, since a consistently modernized music text would hardly allow any conclusions on the interpretative nuances envisioned by Mozart. The preface confirms the brilliance and expertise of Mozart expert Cliff Eisen, who offers a wealth of fascinating findings on interpretation, genesis and early reception.Mozart's last symphony offered editor Cliff Eisen a clear-cut basis for his work: its autograph score is the sole authentic source to have survived.

Following nearly 4 years without having composed a new symphony, although still writing opera overtures and works from orchestral serenades, Mozart composed the ?Paris? Symphony. Mozart received the commission from Joseph Legros, when him and his mother were in Paris in 1778.Mozart composed the work for the largest orchestra he?d written for until then in a symphony, marking the first time which he had used Clarinets in one of his symphonies. Mozart had taken pains to write the work in a style that would appeal to the French and, despite a dismal rehearsal, the first performance was well received.Available here is a study score of Mozart?s Symphony No.31 in D ?Paris? K.297, which is ideal for study and perusal usage..

Mozart composed two new symphonies in the Autumn of 1773, after having returned to Salzburg from Vienna. The first of the two was the Symphony No.24 In B Flat K.182, and the second was the Symphony No.25 in G Minor K.183

This symphony was one of two which Mozart composed in a minor key ? the other being the Symphony No.40 in G Minor K.550. The latter can be identified with some of Mozart?s most troubled and agitated music, reflecting those difficult moments in his life. However, the twenty-fifth symphony is thought to have been composed as part of a sudden wave of minor-key symphonies which appeared in the later 1760s and early 1770s ? among others were composed by Vanhal, Ordonez, and Joseph Haydn.Available here is the study score for one of Mozart?s two symphonies composed in a minor key, the Symphony No.25 in G Minor K.183. This score is ideal for study and perusal usage..
