'In our flute tutor we have tried to allocate the musical and technical content in such a way as to make the path of development smooth and obstacle-free for beginners. This is a Hungarian tutor that we are publishing. Our aim is that the beginner should first play on his instrument in his musical native language, that of Hungarian folk music. For this reason the majority of the exercises are folk melodies or compositions created in the spirit of folk song. In addition to Hungarian folk music, the volume also contains folk music from other countries, and classical music. Of etudes in the traditional sense of the word we have included only as much as was absolutelyessential...'

The three volumes contain 176 studies by 25 composers. The selection was made according to technical usefulness and musical value. The studies follow in order of the grade of difficulty and are grouped around certain problems. All three volumes can be applied as supplementary material to any flute tutor. Their use should be determined by the progress of the student and not by the class he attends. We recommend the first volume (Z. 8591) for beginners, the second (Z. 8592) one for advanced students on the lower level, the third (Z. 8593) for intermediate students. Following the huge success of their instrumental method Look, Listen & Learn, Michiel Oldenkamp and Jaap Kastelein have focussed their attention on school bands and devised a completely new method that can be used in both instrumental lessons and class bands or wind ensembles.
Learning Music Together is the new method for young wind players and percussionists, aged eight and above.
Learning Music Together has been developed in close collaboration with professionals from the class band world, music schools, and academies in the Netherlands and Germany.
Learning Music Together combines instrumental lessons with a course for class band. The flute lessons offer flute-specific items such as new notes and technical exercises while at the same time supporting the learning of the class band, with a focus on rhythm, melodic structure and playing music together. The method consists of two volumes. Volume One introduces the first instrumental notes in unison and then develops part-playing with duets. Volume Two builds on the skills taught in the first volume and introduces pieces in three parts. In addition, supplementary material is available on the extensive website, e.g. demo- and accompaniment tracks for all pieces, additional pieces of music (well-known songs) and video tutorials. Learning Music Together is logically structured and illustrated in a child-friendly way - a perfect combination for young musicians!

Written by the French flautist and composer Marcel Moyse, Beginning the Flute is a method for flute beginners. Created as a supplement for other existing methods such as Taffanel-Gaubert, Gariboldi, or Remusat, Beginning the Flute works as an introductory ABC and provides the beginner with preliminary exercises. These 26 pages consist of thirteen lessons in two pages, the first one to learn the technique and to develop a good sonority and the second to progress with these. If the player encounters difficulties with tempo or breathing for example, they could work on the first page of each lesson and come back later on the second ones, once more technique has been acquired. Considered as a maestro by some musicians, Marcel Moyse (1889-1984) has composed many flute methods and exercise books that are also published by Alphonse Leduc, such as Gammes et Arpèges (1933), De la Sonorité (1934) and Mécanisme-Chromatisme (1927). His methods are widely used and recognised worldwide.
