Starting with an introduction ?Allegro?, this melodious piece is divided into three main parts: ?Andantino?, ?Allegro Vivace? and ?Allegretto?. The first part features a Cadenza, while the second, more lyrical, includes some sections with the sourdine. The last part is more syncopated and more rhythmic before the harmonious finale. Born in France in 1932, Roger Boutry received numerous prizes, including those for Piano, Composition and Conducting. He received the Grand Prix de Rome in 1954. His career was quite successful, alternating between Harmony professor, composer and conductor. He also received numerous prizes for his amazing compositions..

At the two yearly equinoxes, the plane of the earth's equator passes the center of the sun, and day and night are equal. Sun Horizon is bright and energetic, cast in a loose sonata form. Dream Walking is dedicated in memory of composer Brian Fennelly (1937-2015). The tone is lyric and elegiac--building to several climaxes before ending quietly. Moon Mysteries begins with a machine-like ostinato and a modal melody. The (nervous) energy does not abate as the music presses towards a vigorous conclusion. Though born in the Netherlands, composer Marinus de Jong (1891 - 1984) traded his Dutch citizenship for a Belgian one in 1926, and is considered one of Belgium's most prominent composers and pianists of the 20th century. He began his studies at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp, Belgium, at the age of 15, studying under Lodewijk Mortelmans and Emile Bosquet. His Concerto for Trumpet, Op. 49 (Concerto voor trompet), published by Metropolis Music Publishers in 1959, is in three movements: Allegro giusto, Poco lento, Allegro vivo (a la Rumba). A dazzling and virtuosic piece, included with the score are parts for both B-flat and C Trumpet.

It is therefore not surprising that the concerto (due to the very high range of the concertante horn section) initially established itself as a trumpet concerto. Recent attempts with modern, high horns, however, allow a more approximate reproduction of the original. The present edition by the well-known trumpet player Ludwig Guttler takes both options into account. This concerto can be performed on both the E-flat as well as the B-flat trumpet. We recommend, however, performing it on the corno da caccia in high B-flat.Neruda's most famous work was probably composed for the Dresden horn player Anton Joseph Hampel, who mastered the highly specialized art of clarino playing on the corno da caccia.
