The processional “The Patron’s Litany†gives congregations an opportunity to honor their patron saint—or any saint. The refrain format allows for its use at numerous places in the liturgy. A welcome addition to liturgies celebrating the saints.

This Latin mass for choir and wind band was composed in honour of Saint Cecilia’s feast day, Saint Cecilia being the patroness of musicians. For this reason, many ensembles have annual concerts dedicated to Saint Cecila, which was the inspiration forthis piece. It is a festive, optimistic, but also comforting work, which in style perfectly suits the character of Saint Cecilia’s Feast Day. After Missa Brevis, Missa Katharina and The Gospel Mass, Missa Santa Cecilia isthe fourth published mass by the Dutch composer Jacob de Haan. Tears of Dust is composed in memory of Princess Galyani Vadhana who passed away on 2 January 2008. It was a great lost for Thailand as well as the music society for the entire country. Her Royal Highness was interested in all types of music and drama, especially classical music. After she passed away, there was a mourning period of 100 days and the whole nation would wear black for 15 days. Tear of Dust is commissioned by the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra for the memorial concert. She was the patron of the and a great supporter of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. Her presence on the classical music scene was ubiquitous. The loss of Princess Galyani is greatly impact to the Classical Music in Thailand. It is a metaphor to compare the people with the dust because dust came from many various sources but sharing the same element as a dry object. In this case even a dry smallest dust cries for the lost of Her Royal Highness.Tears of Dust is composed in memory of Princess Galyani Vadhana who passed away on 2 January 2008. If only we'd had something like that ... an album for practice, a guide for professional singers as well as for opera enthusiasts.(Franz Mazura, Patron Bass)
ISBN 9790004184721. 9 x 12 inches. German / English.
The OperAria repertoire anthology was much applauded when it came on stage with three baritone volumes in 2015. The successful baritone debut was followed in 2017/18 by the appearance of the four soprano volumes, also conquering hearts in no time. Now, another performance: The curtain rises on the bass volumes, the foundation of the vocal family for heavier, darker voices, though nevertheless brilliant and full of radiance. The protagonists have such well-known names as Bartolo, Don Basilio, Colline, Don Pasquale, Falstaff, Figaro, Kecal, Osmin, Sarastro. Other heroes less often in the limelight, such as Dulcamara, Sancho Pansa, Phanuel, and Sir Morosus, can certainly also count on much applause. It is my aim to give students a modern, systematically structured, well-informed vocal coach that meets the demands of present-day stage practice. And, of course, a cohesive repertoire and logical presentation of audition arias for every vocal genre.(Peter Anton Ling)OperAria is the ideal vocal coach for all voice types. Edited by Peter Anton Ling, the books address all singers and are conceived above all for training and auditions. In addition, through their careful selection, they offer valuable inspiration for opera recitals. The title Ex Tribus Fontis (Latin for ‘from three sources’) refers to the three sources of inspiration that were used for this composition. The legend of Saint Donatus, patron saint of the commissioning band describes how he and his soldiers prayed to God during a losing battle, the result of which being a thunderstorm which annihilated the Teutonic opponents. This three movement piece is extremely impressive and very much suitable for both concerts and contests.

Tchaikovsky spent the summer and autumn of 1880 at his sister's country estate in Kam'ianka, Ukraine, where he sought peace and relaxation. But after a short time the desire to work took hold of him again. “I'm sketching a symphony or string quintet just now; I don't know where it's going yet,†he wrote to his friend and patroness Nadezhda von Meck. In the end it turned out to be a Serenade for String Orchestra, which numbers among his most beautiful inspirations and is today a central work in the genre. The four movements captivate with their diverse moods – be it the Mozartian first movement “in the form of a sonatinaâ€, the elegant Waltz, the melancholy “Elegia†or the rousing Finale. For this new source-critical edition it was possible to consult the autograph in Moscow as well as the early printed editions into which Tchaikovsky sometimes entered a number of minor revisions. Clear the stage for the new reference edition of this indispensable work of the string-orchestra repertoire!

âHail! bright Cecilia, hail to thee. Great patroness of us and harmony!â â this exclamation opens the final chorus of Henry Purcellâs eponymous Ode to St. Cecilia from 1692. A paean to the power of music, the work is one of the undoubted masterpieces of English choral odes of that time. A resolution of the Musical Society of London in 1683 launched the great tradition of annual celebrations for St. Ceciliaâs Day (November 22), featuring a church service followed by performances of specially composed music. Over the years, Purcell wrote several odes for the occasion, of which this example from 1692 is one of the most popular. Four decades later, Handel would also contribute to the celebrations with his Alexanderâs Feast, HWV 75 (Carus 55.075), and his Ode for St. Ceciliaâs Day, HWV 76 (Carus 55.076).Purcellâs magnificent music, which features a huge range of tonal color and form, offers delightful parts for a variety of solo, ensemble, and choral settings. With its richly expressive palette, the Ode to St. Cecilia is an extremely rewarding work by the âOrpheus Britannicusâ, as Purcell was admiringly called by contemporaries.- Festive, rousing ode to music- Highlight of the choral ode genre in the 17th century. Score and parts available separately - see item CA.1025000.
