This fantasia for organ was composed in 2019. The composition is based on a melody attributed to the French composer Louis Bourgeois (approx. 1510–1560) which is one of the most well-known melodies in the Christian musical tradition. It has also been sung to various other texts, such as Lutheran chorales. In Bach’s work, the melody appears in the cantata “Lord God, we praise Thee all of us†BWV 130.The composer has retained the style of French Romanticism. The character of the work corresponds to the content of the text and culminates in a festive finale. This music is suitable for many church music occasions.

Concerto IX. Woodcock’s only surviving musical compositions are a set of twelve concertos (3 for flute, 3 for recorder, and 3 for oboe) published by Walsh and Hare in London circa 1727. The three flute concertos in this set are the earliest known published for that instrument, and the three oboe concertos are the first known by an English composer. Vivaldi published his opus 10 flute concertos shortly thereafter, in c.1728, and the earliest oboe concertos were published by the Italian composer Albinoni in 1715.This Concerto is available in two versions:C504Piano ReductionKeyboard score (Piano/Harpsichord)with Flute partC505 (this version)Full Score and PartsIncludes score and set of parts for Flute, Violin 1 & 2 and VioloncelloThe Optional Basso Continuo Part is available to downloadfrom www.CliftonEdition.com/C504Grades 4–5Former Spartan Press Cat. Owing to its conceptual variety, the Wohltemperiertes Klavier constitutes one of Bach's most complete opuses. It equally comprises the world of the chorales and passions, the Baroque dance movements and concertos. The edition has been based on the 5th volume of the facsimile series (Bach works) published by the Deutscher Verlag für Musik, Leipzig in 1971. In shaping the text of the publication we also studied the major Urtext editions in general use today. The text variants of an Urtext validity which by and large equal the main text, are given in ossia. The editor's addenda are put in square brackets, or in the case of ligatures, are marked with broken lines. (István Lantos).

Performance Material on HireThe Concerto in E major by Pietro Antonio Locatelli is a work that is not among the authenticated compositions of the Bergamasque violinist and composer. It is not therefore included among the eight opus numbers known to date that were printed in Amsterdam under the author’s supervision; nor is it mentioned in any of the catalogues compiled by Locatelli himself. It is therefore a work attributed on the basis of documentary and stylistic considerations. The musical text is derived from a single manuscript source preserved in Dresden, at the Sächsische Landesbibliothek; Locatellian authorship is attested by an annotation inscribed on the title page.
