Vocal score compatible with all available music editions. Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Carus Choir Coach. Symphonie Nr.9.Ccc. Secular choral music. Compact Disc. Composed 1815-1824. Op. 125. Duration 22 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 23.801/93. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2380193). Text language: German. Text: Schiller, Friedrich. It's about 200 years since Beethoven scribbled down a theme in D minor in his sketch book, which he later used, slightly altered, in the 2nd movement of his 9th Symphony. Beethoven had thought of setting Schiller's Ode to Joy much earlier. As early as 1803 Ferdinand Ries mentioned a complete setting of the text by Beethoven which no longer survives. The vocal score of the finale of the 9th Symphony is based on the vocal score made by Carl Reinecke around the end of the 19th century. The version by Reinecke, popular worldwide, closely reflects the sound of the orchestral writing, yet at the same time is remains playable. Stefan Schuck has revised this historic vocal score, in the process taking into account recent research findings. The new Carus vocal score contains rehearsal letters from all current versions of the orchestral material, and is thus compatible with all available music editions. In the presentation of this edition, particular attention has been paid to the practical needs of (choral) singers and repetiteurs. $20.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Words are not enough to praise this exemplary edition, resulting from many years of systematic editorial work on the sources. Breitkopf's source-critical, practice-oriented edition by Clive Brown and Peter Hauschild will provide valuable new impulses in t. Symphony; Classical. Part. 16 pages. Duration 35'. For the present Urtext edition of Beethoven's Symphony No. 2, the editor also consulted certain sources and authentic new variants for the first time; among them are the nonet arrangement made by Beethoven's pupil Ferdinand Ries in 1807, thus with authentic variants. Thanks to his vast knowledge, the editor has uncovered a number of errors and contradictions in the sources. The basic differences with respect to other editions chiefly concern the articulation and dynamics in movements 1, 2 and 4. They can easily be found in the Critical Commentary of the conducting score.

Viola (2.2.2.2 - 2.2.0.0 - timp - str) SKU: BR.OB-14610-19 Urtext based on the new Complete Edition (G. Henle Verlag). Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Edited by Armin Raab. Stapled. Orchester-Bibliothek (Orchestral Library). The study score (,,Studien-Edition) is available at G. Henle Verlag. Symphony; Classical. Part. 16 pages. Duration 35'. Breitkopf and Haertel #OB 14610-19. Published by Breitkopf and Haertel (BR.OB-14610-19). ISBN 9790004336533. 10 x 12.5 inches. Beethoven did not work continuously on this symphony and interrupted his work a couple of times. As the sketches show, he presumably wrote down first ideas in the autumn of 1800.No other autograph material has survived. As Ferdinand Ries, a pupil of Beethoven, bitterly reports, Beethoven gave him the autograph, but it was unfortunately stolen by a friend, out of pure friendship. In April 1803, the composition was premiered publicly, together with the first symphony and the third piano concerto with Beethoven himself as soloist. Although Beethoven's first two symphonies are still influenced by Haydn and Mozart, novelties can already be discovered. The second symphony starts breaking away from traditional forms and lets us surmise the monumentality of Beethoven's innovation. The editor, Armin Raab, critically illuminates the transmission of the work and its sources. He also clears up a wide spread belief in older literature, that this cheerful work might have been composed parallel to the Heiligenstadter Testament. The practical performance material by Breitkopf & Hartel is based on the music text of the New Beethoven Complete Edition and constitutes the authoritative reading of Beethoven research. $10.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 3 to 4 weeks
