This book is about the perfect saxophone sound. In an easygoing, yet accurate manner, Dirko Juchem explains all effects that a saxophonist should be able to master on his instrument: Professional breathing, embouchure, intonation, vibrato, growl, subtone, false fingerings, high notes, glissando, jazz and rock phrasing are all dealt with in detail and demonstrated on the accompanying audio tracks. Additional session tracks provide the possibility to put the acquired knowledge into practice immediately 'with a band'. Due to the easygoing way of imparting fundamental knowledge, 'Saxophon-Sound' is a valuable addition to instrumental lessons, and even the experienced saxophonist will find the advanced techniques, such as false fingerings or high notes, to be professional practising material. 'Saxophon-Sound' is ideal for saxophone lessons and can be used as motivating accompanying material in addition to any customary method.

“Concertino Da Camera, written in 1935 by Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) is a small concerto for Alto Saxophone and eleven instruments: Flute, Bassoon, Oboe, Horn, Trumpet and Strings. This concertino in two movements, Allegro con moto and Larghetto ? Animato Molto, is dedicated to the saxophonist Sigurd Rascher and stands out for its large use of the Alto Saxophone. It can be technically challenging and has a strong lyrical part. This volume is the pocket version of the score. Its author, Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) is a neoclassical composer who won the Prix de Rome in 1919. He composed many symphonic suites, operas and seven orchestras, including 'Angelique' (1926) and 'Divertissement' (1930). He also was in charge of the Accadémie de France in the Villa Médicis (Roma) and was later administrator for the Paris Opera. This concerto has some similarities with is Flute Concerto (1934), also published by Alphonse Leduc.â€.

“Composed by Jeanine Rueff, Sonata for Alto Saxophone solo is a piece for advanced players lasting 12 and a half minutes. Written in 9 pages, this piece, quite challenging (tempo, key ranges), would be perfect for musicians of advanced level and above, while requiring some serious work to obtain the correct result. Wonderfully composed, very technical yet very lyrical, this piece is really enjoyable and can be used for recital or contests. Jeanine Rueff composed numerous pieces for Saxophones that were often used in contests, as well as many pieces for Saxhorn, Clarinet, Horn and Cornet.â€.
