Jacques Offenbach was born in 1819 in Cologne, Germany, but as a child he moved to Paris where he received a thorough musical education. In his operetta Orpheus in the Underworld, Offenbach parodies the famous Greek legend of Orpheus and Euridice. Indirectly, however, he criticises the complacency of many of his contemporaries. The overture was not written entirely by Offenbach, Carl Binder added various pieces to it for a Viennese production of this operetta in 1860 and since then, these pieces have remained part of the composition. This appealing transcription includes the famous Can Can which is sure to get your audience high kicking in the aisles!

This classic Bach fugue is ideal for bands of all sizes and skills, but especially adapted for those with limited instrumentation desiring to challenge their developing musicians. It is also appropriate for very small ensembles, having been carefully crafted by the arranger to work well with as few as five performers. The required independence of parts provides opportunities for developing technical and musical skills while also presenting the option for performance of a masterwork from the Baroque era. The final product will be well worth the effort in developing and enhancing the overall musicianship of your performers. Great music!

Who doesn’t know the children’s TV series Thunderbirds. The Gerry Anderson classic is still as popular today with both children and adults as when it was first shown in the sixties. This arrangement of the theme tune will be loved by all and will leave your audience humming it all the way home.

An epic programmatic work that captures the fight between good and evil. The work opens with a heroic fanfare that commands attention. From here the music subsides into a beautifully lyric chorale section. Our musical story begins to unfold as the demons theme is introduced. The theme is developed and expanded, creating a feeling of unresolved conflict, ultimately leading to a thunderous conclusion. From here, the heroic theme returns, stronger and more developed this time as our battle between good and evil comes to its conclusion, but not before a brief final battle creating a dramatic end to the piece that will have your audiences on their feet. Destined to be a classic for concert and festival use, cross cueing is used to insure success in most performance settings. Don't miss this exceptional addition to the concert band repertoire.
