AGNI by Bernd Franke is a 17-minute work for Bass Clarinet and Orchestra. Agni is the Hindu god of fire and at the same time the elemental and transformative force inherent in everything. In illustrations, Agni is depicted with seven tongues, which stand for the different aspects of his being: creating, sustaining, purifying, priestly, warlike, devastating, destroying, consuming. In the eponymous concerto for bass clarinet and orchestra, Bernd Franke traces the transformation processes initiated by the divine fire in compositional terms. The work was first performed on 23 November 2019 in Großenhain by Volker Hemken (bass clarinet) and Elbland Philharmonie conducted by Ekkehard Klemm.

Jean Ignace Isidore Gerard, a 19th Century French caricaturist, is not well-known in Japan. The composer was inspired to compose Fiddle after seeing Grandville's work, Apocalypse du ballet, which expresses continuous patterns of transformative objects in a sense of disorienting beauty. Although all four instruments are responsible for four individual melodies, they are not subjected to fixed pitches and textures (extended techniques such as sul ponticello and sul tasto are used), and are intended to create a merged acoustic fabric that is in constant transformation.

Inventing the American Guitar is the first book to describe the early history of American guitar design in detail. It tells the story of how a European instrument was transformed into one with all of the design and construction features that define the iconic American flat-top guitar. This transformation happened within a mere 20 years, a remarkably brief period. The person who dominates this history is C. F. Martin Sr., America's first major guitar maker and the founder of the Martin Guitar Company, which continues to produce outstanding flat-top guitars today. After emigrating from his native Saxony to New York in 1833, Martin quickly established a guitar making business, producing instruments modeled after those of his mentor, Johann Stauffer of Vienna. By the time he moved his family and business to rural Pennsylvania in 1839, Martin had absorbed and integrated the influence of Spanish guitars he had seen and heard in New York. In Pennsylvania, he evolved further, inventing a uniquely American guitar that was fully developed before the outbreak of the Civil War. Inventing the American Guitar traces Martin's evolution as a craftsman and entrepreneur and explores the influences and experiments that led to his creation of the American guitar that is recognized and played around the world today. Sacrificium was commissioned by the St Albans International Organ Festival for what has become one of the most influential organ competitions in the world. It is a demanding 8 minute work that will challenge performers with an abundance of contrasting material whilst still leaving space for individual interpretation. Casken refers to the story of Alban who sacrificed his life to save another Christian thereby becoming the first British Martyr in his programme note and more specifically the act of exchanging cloaks and deception which led to Alban's execution. This idea of taking on a new appearance is apparent in the music as recurring themes undergo transformations, gradually becoming absorbed into new musical textures.

On the broadcast of the film From Dusk Till Dawn, the following note could be read in Gong (German radio and television programme guide) on 21 May: The gangsters Seth (George Clooney) and Richard Gecko (Quentin Tarantino) are on the run. On their way to Mexico, they take the apostate preacher Fuller and his children hostage. On their journey, they end up in Titty Twister Bar, not suspecting that it is peopled by vampires. Well, after deducting some film junk, some typical elements remain: what is past and over, constant new dramatic pair constellations, what is dead and constantly reawakening, the transformations, the troubles and destructions, the final annihilation teeming with destruction etc. Basically, it is a myth of ruin, in whose structure the elements are interchangeable. It could also be told with a coherent material concept, in a historically obsolete manner, in an old-fashioned way, with non-compensation, with flaring abolition yes, does everything always work??? It is good that it only takes place in a bar and that the bar invites us into Titty Twister in attractive neon writing. Restless nature and beauty are at home in the bar today. That facilitates for us the effortlessness of having fun in life.
