Yismechu has been adapted from a brief, unaccompanied setting of Yismach Moshe, which Nowakowsky composed for cantor and mixed chorus. For this adaptation, rhythms have been occasionally altered to accommodate the new text, a piano accompaniment (in the style of Ukrainian folk dance) has been added, and musical ideas from the opening are brought back to create a satisfying concert ending.
