The version for flute and piano also contains a facsimile of the solo part from the first edition as well as cadenzas which stem from the earliest hand-written sources or which were composed by the editor in Mozart's style.

Text: von Swieten, Gottfried. Text: Baron von Swieten. The primary source on which the new Carus Urtext edition is based is the first edition of the score from 1800. Contrary to normal custom, Haydn published the score himself in order to avoid unauthorized publications and to present an optimally designed edition from an authentic hand. With this original document, which has been compared with additional relevant sources, Carus now offers a musical text based on the latest musicological findings. The critical report provides all of the important data concerning the edition in a compact form suitable for practical use [practical performance]. A detailed foreword offers insight into the genesis of the work, its construction and reception and illuminates compositional and theological and spiritual-historical aspects. In addition to the score, with singing texts in two languages (G. van Swieten's original German and English text), in the interest of legibility, vocal and choral scores will be offered in two separate editions (German or English). This work is now available in carus music, the choir app. Score and parts available separately - see item CA.5199000. $110.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks | | |

Soloists, Mixed choir, Orchestra SKU: BA.BA05576 Composed by Franz Schube...(+)
Soloists, Mixed choir, Orchestra SKU: BA.BA05576 Composed by Franz Schubert. Edited by Rudolf Faber. This edition: urtext edition. Paperback. Score. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA05576. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA05576). ISBN 9790006575954. 31 x 24.3 cm inches. Key: E-flat major. Text Language: Latin. We know relatively little about the genesis of Schubertâ??s Mass in E-flat major (D 950) which he completed in 1828, a few months before his death. The work was not performed during his lifetime and we can only speculate what might have caused the composer to write this Missa solemnis.
In the preface to this volume of the New Schubert Edition, editor Rudolf Faber assembles all documented facts. Furthermore, he focuses on the accents, which are such a characteristic element of Schubertâ??s autograph scores, and explains how Schubert used them in a very differentiated manner, in particular in the Mass in E-flat major. In order to do justice to these subtle differences, the New Schubert Edition has introduced a new symbol: an accent which is flexible with regard to its length and which makes it possible to visualize Schubertâ??s sophisticated employment of emphasis and accentuation.
The work is scored for large orchestra (without flutes), chorus, and one soprano as well as two tenors as soloists. In Schubertâ??s autograph the organ is not explicitly called for, but Ferdinand Schubert added an organ part for the posthumous premiere on 4 October 1829 at the Dreifaltigkeitskirche of Vienna Alservorstadt.

Mixed choir (SATB), 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons - 2 horns, 2 trumpets, 3 trombones, timpani and strings (P+KRB) SKU: HL.49042434 Composed by Carl Maria von Weber. Edited by Frank Ziegler and Johannes Kepper. This edition: Full-cloth binding. Sheet music. Edition Schott. Score and critical commentary, complete edition. 306 pages. Schott Music #WGA1021. Published by Schott Music (HL.49042434). ISBN 9783795794491. 10.25x13.5x1.141 inches. German. Carl Maria von Weber's fame rests mainly on 'Der Freischutz'. The unprecedented success of this opera overshadowed all his other works and contributed to their increasing fall into oblivion. Certain works such as 'Preciosa', 'Oberon', and 'Euryanthe', the overtures, solo concertos and piano sonatas, the lieder and chamber works enjoyed great popularity and were widely known in Germany and abroad as late as the second half of the 19th century. However, any chance of a revival of Weber's influential and substantial oeuvre was wasted in the 1920s, when a complete edition - begun by Hans Joachim Moser and with potential contributors including Wilhelm Kempff, Hans Pfitzner, Max von Schillings, Fritz Stein and Richard Strauss - failed after the third volume.Ever since there have been numerous attempts to restart a complete edition of Weber's works, but as this kind of project would have required the co-operation of scholars from both sides of the inter-German border, the political situation after 1945 was not conducive to any such enterprise. Careful negotiations led to the first tangible steps in the 1980s. The intention, right from the beginning, was to place Weber's work in context, and not to separate his musical output from his influential work as a writer, critic and organiser in the musical field, but to publish his compositions together with his letters, diaries and other literary output as the best way to document the cross-fertilisation between his musical, literary and practical activities.Since the German re-unification both working-parties concerned - at the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin, and at the Musikwissenschaftliches Seminar, Detmold/Paderborn - have co-operated on the complete edition of the musical works (c. 45 volumes in 10 series: sacred music; cantatas, odes and other occasional works; stage works; lieder and vocal works; orchestral works; chamber music; music for piano; piano reductions; miscellanea, arrangements and orchestrations; works of doubtful attribution). The diaries (6-8 vols.) are edited in Berlin and the letters (8-10 vols.) and other writings (2 vols.) in Detmold. This complete edition aims to be a reliable basis of scholarly debate as well as for the authentic performance practice of Carl Maria von Weber's music. Conforming to the standards of recent historico-critical editions, the textual material will be based on all available authentic sources, accompanied by a detailed documentation of the genesis and a list of variants for each work.
