Orchestra Soli STB, Coro SATB, 2 Fl, 2 Ob, 2 Fg, Cfg, 2 Cor, 3 Trb, 2 Vl, Va, Vc, Cb SKU: CA.7006511 Composed by Franz Schubert. Edited by Stefan Schuck. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Schubert. Violin 1. Sacred vocal music, Lent and Passiontide, Holy Week, Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hymns in praise of the Virgin Mary. Single Part, Violin 1. D 383. 16 pages. Duration 37 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 70.065/11. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.7006511). ISBN 9790007244736. Language: German. In spring 1816 Franz Schubert, just nineteen years old, completed his second setting of the Stabat Mater in the midst of a highly productive period. In contrast with his first setting written the previous year, just five minutes in length, this time Schubert used the German translation by Klopstock as the basis for his composition. Stefan Schuck's edition is the first one of this work to be based on a critical evaluation of the primary sources, with complete performance material. The work, in a dark F minor, with its text by Klopstock, places Jesus Christ, rather than Mary, at the center of the contemplation. With his fugues, but particularly in the eight-part lamenting chorus Wer wird Zahren sanften Mitleids, Schubert shows himself at the height of his creative output. He composed his 4th Symphony, the Tragic, at almost the same time. The Stabat Mater is a rewarding work for choral societies and choirs to perform, because the choir has the largest portion to sing, and the choral parts are not too demanding. The composition is also a beautiful introduction to the choral-symphonic music of Schubert for less experienced choirs. Score and part available separately - see item CA.7006500. $14.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Solo Trombone, Band parts - picc, 2fls, 2 obs, EH, 2bsns, 3 cls, bcl, 2asx, tsx, bsx, 4 hns, 3 tpts, 3 tbns, euph, tba, timp, 3 perc Duration: 17' Composed: 2013 Published by: Amy Mills Music, LLC …the audience loved Red Dragonfly. Definitely a keeper in my repertoire! Dr. James Bicigo, Associate Professor of Trombone, University of Alaska, Anchorage Virtuoso piece, the dramatic first movement opens with a Bold statement followed by the beautiful love theme. It reaches up to the Cry of the Heart, then everything ruptures and crashes. Now the trombonist must rebuild and gain strength through dramatic cadenzas until reaching the recapitulation where the opening Bold melody is transformed into a majestic march in 3/4 time. The love theme returns, and the movement ends in triumph. The second movement is a setting of the famous Japanese folksong, Red Dragonfly. The trombonist and pianist play the lovely song amidst the sound of fluttering wings that appear and disappear like memories of the heart. Thank you to the Nihon Gakugeki Kyoukai Foundation for permission to use the melody in this trombone sonata. A solo glissando opens the third movement in American folk dance style with tongue in cheek and twinkle in both eyes. The subsequent variations include a perfect triple canon, a taste of New Orleans jazz, and a dramatic augmentation which spills into a flashback of the first movement’s love theme. This melts away and we recapture a glimpse of the Red Dragonfly melody, this time growing to the Triumphant restatement of the first movement’s main theme. And finally, the exuberant coda drives to a spectacular ending. Difficulty Level: Trombone 6 (Professional) Band 5 (Advanced) See also Red Dragonfly, Sonata for Trombone and Piano for the version with piano accompaniment. See composer website for audio sample. Orchestra Soli STB, Coro SATB, 2 Fl, 2 Ob, 2 Fg, Cfg, 2 Cor, 3 Trb, 2 Vl, Va, Vc, Cb SKU: CA.7006505 Composed by Franz Schubert. Edited by Stefan Schuck. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Schubert. Sacred vocal music, Lent and Passiontide, Holy Week, Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hymns in praise of the Virgin Mary. Choral Score. D 383. 24 pages. Duration 37 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 70.065/05. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.7006505). ISBN 9790007242916. Trombone & Piano SKU: SU.32040021 For Trombone & Piano. Composed by Amy Riebs Mills. Brass, Trumpet. Accompanied by piano. Score & Parts. Subito Music Corporation #32040021. Published by Subito Music Corporation (SU.32040021). Trombone & Piano Duration: 17' Composed: 2013 Published by: Amy Mills Music, LLC …the audience loved Red Dragonfly. Difficulty Level: Trombone 6 (Professional) Piano 5 (Advanced) See also Red Dragonfly, Concerto for Trombone and Band for the version with band accompaniment. Liebes-Lied is about a strong but painful love, Buddha in der Glorie, a description of religious ecstasy, quite unusual in the works of Rilke, and Sluss-stuck, about death, which exists in the midst of us, in the middle of life. $25.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
