Carl Fischer Music #SPS95. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.SPS95). ISBN 9781491161302. UPC: 680160919895. Written to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the surprise attack on the American Pacific Fleet, Remembering Pearl Harbor is a stirring tribute honoring the heroes of the date which will live in infamy- December 7, 1941. Like flying over the Pacific, the opening bars seemingly soar back in time. The composition takes the listener on a moving journey from the precarious moments before the fateful attack, through the air strike and resulting aftermath. The musical voyage begins with chimes, signifying the hour of the attack that Sunday morning, developing into the heroic main theme representing the Spirit of America. A rousing version of Anchors Aweigh takes us to the naval base at Pearl Harbor and the activities of the day. By the end of Anchors Aweigh, the mood seems to change, foreshadowing the fate of the U.S. fleet. Next, the haunting theme of the Japanese National Anthem is heard and the distant sound of propellers as they approach. When the planes arrive, the battle rages until there is total destruction. Countless people lost their lives on this tragic day. The playing of Taps and the Navy Hymn, Eternal Father, Strong to Save is presented as an homage to those who perished. Following this solemn moment, the American spirit begins to rise as they come together to defeat the enemy. As the U.S. triumphs in the end, we hear fragments of many American tunes depicting the strength and resilience of the American People. You may want to consider using portions of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's famous speech to enhance your performance. The following sections are suggested: Measure 46: Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by the naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan. Measure 83: The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian Islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. Measure 105: No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.. Dedicated to Cuatro Puntos and The American School for the Deaf. Squish! is a love story, King Kong’s love story. But not the conventional one immortalised in the 1933 Hollywood film - the terrifying giant ape astride the Empire State Building who clasps the fainting heroine, while swiping hopelessly at the planes which eventually send him crashing dead to the ground. This is the American Sign Language (ASL) version which has something of a twist at the end. Squish! was written as Composer-in-Residence with Cuatro Puntos and was commissioned with funds from the Connecticut Officeof the Arts. Brass Band - Grade 5 SKU: BT.AMP-482-130 Composed by Philip Sparke. Elite...(+)
Brass Band - Grade 5 SKU: BT.AMP-482-130 Composed by Philip Sparke. Elite Series. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2019. 21 pages. Anglo Music Press #AMP 482-130. Published by Anglo Music Press (BT.AMP-482-130). English-German-French-Dutch. Sparkling Brass was commissioned by Osaka Concert Brass, one of Japan’s top brass bands, and premiered by them on 27th December 2018 during a concert which celebrated their 10th Anniversary. The work opens in lively mood with fanfare-style figures from the lower band which are answered by the cornets. This interplay intensifies until the mood calms suddenly to introduce a chorale which leads to a duet-cadenza for cornet and euphonium. The rhythmic mood of the opening soon returns and leads to the main theme of the work, a modal caccia which features various section of the band. A short bridge passage leads to a change of key and a new cantabile theme which isintroduced by euphoniums and baritone. This is taken up by the full band after another change of key and leads back to the caccia theme. A transformed version of the opening fanfare returns to close the work.
$26.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Orchestra and Vocal SKU: BT.EMBZ40045 By Gabor Darvas. By Claude Debussy....(+)
Orchestra and Vocal SKU: BT.EMBZ40045 By Gabor Darvas. By Claude Debussy. EMB Study Scores. Classical. Study Score. Composed 1984. 176 pages. Editio Musica Budapest #EMBZ40045. Published by Editio Musica Budapest (BT.EMBZ40045). The plan for the three orchestral Nocturnes took a long time to mature: Debussy first alluded to them as 'Three evening scenes' in a letter dated September 1892. Two years later the work was already referred to as a concerto, which would have been written for the renowned violinist, Ysaye. In the end, however, it was the original idea which meterialised. According to notes on the composer's manusript the detailed elaboration of the Nocturnes took two years: 'Composé de décembre 1897 á décembre 1899'. Only the first two movements were played at the first performance in Paris on 9th December 1900. The complete work was performed on 27th October 1901. Although the full scoreappeared in print as early as 1900, Debussy made a number of substantial changes in the orchestration during the years that followed, only the much later, in 1930 published version may be regarded as the final one which forms the basis of the present edition. $13.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

String Quartet SKU: BT.MUSM570367405 Composed by Sadie Harrison. Set of Parts. University of York Music Press #MUSM570367405. Published by University of York Music Press (BT.MUSM570367405). Sadie Harrison's Squish! (King Kong's Love Song) for String Quartet. Composed and published 2016. Dedicated to Cuatro Puntos and The American School for the Deaf. Squish! is a love story, King Kong’s lovestory. But not the conventional one immortalised in the 1933 Hollywood film - the terrifying giant ape astride the Empire State Building who clasps the fainting heroine, while swiping hopelessly at the planes which eventually sendhim crashing dead to the ground. This is the American Sign Language (ASL) version which has something of a twist at the end. Squish! was written as Composer-in-Residence with Cuatro Puntos and was commissioned withfundsfrom the Connecticut Office of the Arts. The premiere took place at the American School for the Deaf (the oldest permanent school for the deaf in the United States founded in 1817) in West Hartford, Connecticut, on 7thDecember 2016. $18.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 4 to 6 weeks
