SATB vocal soli, SATB choir, 2 flutes, 2 oboes/oboe d'amore, 2 horns, 3 trumpets, timpani, 2 violins, viola, basso continuo SKU: CA.3119512 Wedding cantata. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Uwe Wolf. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Dem Gerechten Muss Das Licht Immer Wieder. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, Wedding. Single Part, Violin 2. BWV 195. 8 pages. Duration 16 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.195/12. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3119512). ISBN 9790007210397. Text language: German/English. The Hochzeitskantate (Wedding Cantata) BWV 195 was performed by Bach from around 1730 at various wedding celebrations in different forms, and was evidently also lent out for performances further afield. The only surviving version of the work dates from the last years of Bach's life. The opulently-scored first part begins and ends with grand choral movements, and Bach scored both parts for soloists and for chorus. At the centre of the cantata is an exceptionally sensitive bass aria, probably one of Bach's most modern vocal compositions of all. A chorale movement (Nun danket all and bringet Ehr/ Now thank we all and offer praise) with obbligato horns concludes the cantata as the second part after the consummation. Score and part available separately - see item CA.3119500. $6.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks | | |

Duration 2 hours, 15 minutes. Baerenreiter Verlag #BA08708_01. Published by Baerenreiter Verlag (BA.BA08708-01). ISBN 9790006537846. 33 x 27 cm inches. Text Language: French. Preface: Prévost, Paul / Macdonald, Hugh. Text: Leterrier, Eugène / Vanloo, Albert. WithL'Etoile, Chabrier composed a light-hearted opera which has increasingly enjoyed revivals in recent years. The plot is introduced by King Ouf I who offers his subjects an execution every year on his birthday. Unfortunately the problem now arises that no crime has recently been committed which might serve as a reason for an execution. Finally, he finds a would-be victim in the young Lazuli. However, according to predictions by the astrologer Siroco, Lazuli's fate is closely linked to the king's own life. The comic opera is further bolstered by a story of mistaken identities which involves a great deal of diplomacy, a love story and a large number of refined, yet catchy melodies. Chabrier was a master of the sensitive and complicated art of musical comedy, a field where he can be compared in equal measure to Offenbach, Rossini and Mozart.
This vocal score is based on the full score edited by Hugh Macdonald which is published as part of the seriesL'Opera francais. - Authoritative Urtext edition based on the seriesL'Opera francais - Original French text with a German singing translation - Comprehensive foreword (Ger/Eng/Fr)
