Orchestra String Orchestra - Grade 1 SKU: CF.BAS5 Composed by Joseph Compello. SWS - FS. Carl Fischer Beginning String Orchestra Series. Classical. Score and Parts. With Standard notation. 12+8+8+5+5+5+3+2 pages. Duration 2:30. Carl Fischer Music #BAS5. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.BAS5). ISBN 9780825845086. UPC: 798408045081. 8.5 X 11 inches. Key: D major. The musical effect of Prarie Lullaby should be graceful and serene, evocative of a peaceful night on the open plains. To that end, players will need to strive for an unlabored rhythmic flow, smooth bowing and a clear, steady tone as close to p as possible. Beginning at m.39, the violin and viola parts are marked pizzicato. If young players are unable to return quickly to argo at m.53, they may make the bow preparation easier by taking a full measure rest at m.52. This option is marked in the parts and score. The divisi notes at m. 69 are provided for ensembles which lack violas. Ensembles with violas may have them play the lower notes while the second violins play the upper notes. Percussion, which is completely optional, should be very subdued. Choose a bell mallet which allows the tones to be heard just above the strings. the woodblock part is intended to imitate the clip-clop sound of a horse's hooves. Two different sizes of woodblocks or temple blocks are needed. Finding two suitable sounds on one woodblock is difficult. Again, the right mallets are very important. The suspended cymbal should be played with brushes if the string ensemble is small. If the suspended cymbal with brushes cannot be heard above a large number of strings, then sticks should be used instead. The percussion part can be performed by one player, provided the instruments and mallets are set up properly and the player has the skill to make the transitions smoothly. Note the optional rest at mm. 53-54. Performance time with the repeat is two and a half minutes. Larry Clark does it again with this tuneful new feel good piece. You and your students will walk away humming this tune. There is even a nice contrasting lyrical middle section in the relative minor to break up the piece. Solstice: one of two times in the year when the sun is at its greatest distancefrom the celestial equator.A solstice happens at the mid-point of summer, about June 21, and the midpoint of winter, about December 22. Each of those times of year is delightful. The carefree days of summer have just begun around June 21, when the mind wanders to long bike rides or walks on the beach. During the winter solstice the mind is filled with all of the delights that the holiday season has to offer. Either way, a solstice is a joyous and fun filled time of year, and this piece is intended to bring to mind some of these wonderful times. The main theme should be performed in a light carefree manner, which is then contrasted by the more lyrical and passionate middle section. As with all of my pieces for younger students, the tempo indicated is merely a guide. Adjust the tempo to fit the needs of your students. It has been my pleasure to have the opportunity to write this piece. I hope you and your students enjoy it and find it useful for your program. Orchestra String Orchestra - Grade 1.5-2 SKU: CF.FAS21 Composed by Larry Clark. Edited by Amy Rosen. SWS - FS. Carl Fischer First Plus String Orchestra Series. Classical. Score and Parts. With Standard notation. 8+8+2+5+5+5+2+8 pages. Carl Fischer Music #FAS21. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.FAS21). ISBN 9780825853067. UPC: 798408053062. 8.5 X 11 inches. Key: B minor. Character was composed to introduce young string players to contemporary harmonic techniques while still being within the technical limitations of the developing student. Quartal and quintal harmonies open the composition with a fanfare gesture that ties the piece together. This is followed by an ostinato in the first violins that contains a tricky figuration between G and A that will work the pinky finger on the D-string. Players who are not capable of maneuvering their pinky at this brisk tempo should play the lower part. The main theme is given to the inner voice for a change! After the main theme there is a development section that combines fragments of the fanfare material with fragments of the main theme. A grand pause and then a stronger statement of the main theme then follow this with the first violins up an octave. The piece is then completed with a short coda containing fragments of the ostinato and fanfare material. It feels natural for the tempo to speed up slightly at this point in the piece. As with all of my pieces at this level, the tempo is merely a suggestion and should be adjusted slower or faster to fit the needs of your students and the performance situation. It has been my pleasure to have the opportunity to write this piece. I hope you and your students enjoy it and find it useful for your program. -Larry Clark New York, NY 2003. The title depicts the uplifting nature of the piece that inspires young players to have confidence and respect while living with character and integrity. The music is characterized by strong melodic intervals of fourths and fifths and dynamic contrasts, a Larry Clark signature that has made his music so popular. In addition, every player is an important part of the music. This is a perfect showpiece for developing groups for concerts or festivals. As a former teacher I always tried to use the experience of playing in an ensemble to teach students about being good people first b having confidence, being respectful, living with character and integrity. I choose to write music with titles that will stimulate students to strive for this high standard and I have tried to write pieces that will somehow musically depict these values. Integrity is one such piece. I hope you will find the main theme to be uplifting and with musical integrity, but within the reach of developing students. My themes usually are characterized by strong melodic intervals of fourths and fifths and this piece is no exception. It is also my goal when writing music for younger students to provide every section in the ensemble a chance to play important melodic material at some point in the piece. In my humble opinion, if students are given music they like to play they will want to practice it over and over again. The tempo markings and bowings indicated are only there as a guide and should be adjusted to the needs of your students. It has been my pleasure to have the opportunity to write this piece. I hope that you and your students find it useful for your program. LARRY CLARK Lakeland, Florida 2004. | Serenade in C Major Op. 48 String Orchestra G. Henle
String Parts String Orchestra (String Set) SKU: HL.51481567 For String...(+)
String Parts String Orchestra (String Set) SKU: HL.51481567 For String Orchestra String Parts. Composed by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. Edited by Dominik Rahmer. Henle Music Folios. Classical. Softcover. 165 pages. G. Henle #HN1567. Published by G. Henle (HL.51481567). UPC: 196288206958. 9.25x12.0x0.824 inches. Tchaikovsky spent the summer and autumn of 1880 at his sisterÂs country estate in KamÂianka, Ukraine, where he sought peace and relaxation. But after a short time the desire to work took hold of him again. âI'm sketching a symphony or string quintet just now; I don't know where it's going yet,â he wrote to his friend and patroness Nadezhda von Meck. In the end it turned out to be a Serenade for String Orchestra, which numbers among his most beautiful inspirations and is today a central work in the genre. The four movements captivate with their diverse moods â be it the Mozartian first movement âin the form of a sonatinaâ, the elegant Waltz, the melancholy âElegiaâ or the rousing Finale. For this new source-critical edition it was possible to consult the autograph in Moscow as well as the early printed editions into which Tchaikovsky sometimes entered a number of minor revisions. Clear the stage for the new reference edition of this indispensable work of the string-orchestra repertoire! String Parts String Orchestra (Parts) SKU: HL.51483322 For String Orch...(+)
String Parts String Orchestra (Parts) SKU: HL.51483322 For String Orchestra String Set Parts. Composed by Edvard Grieg. Edited by Ernst-Gü and nter Heinemann. Henle Music Folios. Classical. Softcover. 44 pages. G. Henle #HN3322. Published by G. Henle (HL.51483322). UPC: 196288308089. 9.5x12.25x0.59 inches. The occasion for the composition, described as a âsuite in the old styleâ, was the 200th birthday of the Norwegian-Danish poet Ludvik Holberg (1684-1754), which was celebrated in Bergen with several festive events. Initially, a piano version of the work was written in August 1884, but the composer already had the arrangement for string orchestra in mind, which he made just one month later. As a starting point, Grieg chose baroque dance movements from Holberg's era, but skilfully combined them with elements of his own tonal language, such as chromatic progressions and dynamic swells. The orchestral version of the âHolberg Suiteâ, which was very successful right from the beginning, is still one of Grieg's most popular compositions today and now enriches the Henle programme for string orchestra. | Prairie Lullaby String Orchestra [Score] - Beginner Carl Fischer
Orchestra String Orchestra - Grade 1 SKU: CF.BAS5F Composed by Joseph Com...(+)
Orchestra String Orchestra - Grade 1 SKU: CF.BAS5F Composed by Joseph Compello. Carl Fischer Beginning String Orchestra Series. Full score. With Standard notation. 12 pages. Carl Fischer Music #BAS5F. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.BAS5F). ISBN 9780825845093. UPC: 798408045098. 8.5 X 11 inches. The musical effect of Prarie Lullaby should be graceful and serene, evocative of a peaceful night on the open plains. To that end, players will need to strive for an unlabored rhythmic flow, smooth bowing and a clear, steady tone as close to p as possible.Beginning at m.39, the violin and viola parts are marked pizzicato. If young players are unable to return quickly to argo at m.53, they may make the bow preparation easier by taking a full measure rest at m.52. This option is marked in the parts and score. The divisi notes at m. 69 are provided for ensembles which lack violas. Ensembles with violas may have them play the lower notes while the second violins play the upper notes.Percussion, which is completely optional, should be very subdued. 53-54.Performance time with the repeat is two and a half minutes. About Carl Fischer Beginning String Orchestra Series This series of Grade 1 pieces is designed for first year string groups. | Serenade in C Major Op. 48 String Orchestra [Study Score / Miniature] G. Henle
String Orchestra (Study Score) SKU: HL.51487550 For String Orchestra, ...(+)
String Orchestra (Study Score) SKU: HL.51487550 For String Orchestra, Study Score. Composed by Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky. Edited by Dominik Rahmer. Henle Study Scores. Classical. Softcover. G. Henle #HN7550. Published by G. Henle (HL.51487550). UPC: 196288207238. 6.75x9.5x0.251 inches. Tchaikovsky spent the summer and autumn of 1880 at his sister's country estate in Kam'ianka, Ukraine, where he sought peace and relaxation. | Arco Echo String Orchestra - Beginner Carl Fischer
Orchestra Violin I, Violin II, Violin III (Viola T.C.), Viola, Cello, Bass,...(+)
Orchestra Violin I, Violin II, Violin III (Viola T.C.), Viola, Cello, Bass, Piano - Grade 0.5 SKU: CF.BAS88 Composed by James Lockett. Bas. Set of Score and Parts. Duration 1:30. Carl Fischer Music #BAS88. Published by Carl Fischer Music (CF.BAS88). ISBN 9781491164730. UPC: 680160923649. Key: G major. Using just 6 notes, Arco Echo explores G major in first position using only easy quarter- and half-note rhythms. A smooth detaché call-and-response between upper and lower string sections will help young students learn to listen across the ensemble, building confidence in simple three-part harmony with doubled Violin 2/Viola and doubled Cello/Bass. Optional piano is included for additional support, making this a fun first venture into independent counting. Arco Echo is a lighthearted piece for beginning string orchestra. It falls within the range of the first-year player. Young musicians can work on basic detaché bowing skills with a nice mix of half- and quarter-note rhythms, including some rests and minimal dynamic changes. All of the sections get a chance to play parts of the melody with an echo game of call-and-response between upper and lower string sections. The harmonies are very clear and direct, resulting in a solid concert selection that will give the young orchestra a big, confident sound.
