Bartok wrote his Piano Concerto No.3 during the summer of 1945 intending it as a birthday present to his wife Ditta on 31st October. By this time he was already gravely ill; however he was able to finish the score with the exception of the last seventeen bars which he notated in a kind of musical shorthand. These last bars were later deciphered and scored by his pupil and friend Tibor Serly. This is a reduction for 2 Pianos four hands by Matyas Seiber.

This piece was composed in 1998 by John Adams. It is an expressive and brilliant work for Two Pianos and Four hands that is energetic and resonant.

Cyril Scott was an English composer writer and poet. He was essentially a late romantic composer whose style was at the same time strongly influenced by impressionism. His harmony was notably exotic. Scott wrote around four hundred works which include two mature symphonies three operas three Piano concertos concertos for Violin Cello Oboe and Harpsichord several overtures four oratorios as well as a mass of chamber music.Scott is undoubtedly best known for the solo Piano piece Lotus Land which is transcribed here for two Pianos. LotusLand seems impossibly modern for 1905 and additionally possesses a preternatural sense of jazziness. It has been recorded over fifty times both in its original form for Piano and in a wide variety of arrangements from vocals to jazz groups and from Brass bands to Synthesizer. Later Scott also wrote a poem with the same name.

Par DUTILLEUX HENRI. Henri Dutilleux (1916-2013) was greatly influenced by his contemporaries, Ravel, Debussy and Roussel, yet implemented his own, unique style. His Figures De Resonance is an excellent duet for Two Pianos. This Dutilleux piece was first published in 1980 and is made up of four movements. Figures De Resonance is a group of sequences which forms a variety of sounds within an acoustic. It is a virtuosic and modern work, with pedalling included throughout.
