A SONG FROM THE HEART was originally composed for Trumpet and Piano and is dedicated to Dennis Caron on the occasion of his retirement. It was commissioned by his wife, Marsha Caron, and was premiered at Dennis’s retirement party by our mutual friend Charles Schlueter, long-time principal trumpet of the Boston Symphony. A SONG FROM THE HEART is filled with lyricism and rich harmonies, as the trumpet line sings and soars over a rich accompaniment.
