This magical up-tempo Spanish rock chart with lots of unison sectional lines for the horns will have your students sounding bigger and better than they really are! The chart develops by building on rhythmic ideas from every section starting with the rhythm section featuring the bass player. Multiple auxiliary Latin percussion parts are written for two players. There is solo space for your trumpet player with additional room for percussion or any other instrument of your choice. A guitar performance help sheet with suggested voicings and scales is also included in the bag of tricks. A perfect chart for any concert or festival performance and a sure winner with students and audiences alike!

Another amazing, exciting chart has been added to the Pat Metheny Series! Bob Curnow's arrangement of Metheny/Mays' composition Stranger In Town hits you in the face right from the start and ends in the same manner. With typical Metheny/Mays flavor, there is a musical shift in the middle as solo space for tenor saxophone emerges, followed by a full ensemble interlude which then takes us to a peak ending. Originally recorded by PMG on their album We Live Here, Curnow has once again masterfully arranged this tune to fit perfectly in a big band setting! 5-4-4-4.

Dreamin' Out Loud is a very accessible calypso chart that is reminiscent of Sonny Rollins's well known calypso tunes. An introductory chorale gives way to a happy, toe-tapping groove over which a tuneful melody is presented. The basic chord progression will accommodate multiple soloists. Great vehicle for exploring different rhythms and providing variety to a concert or festival program. Outstanding!

Here is another chart written for Stan Kenton (in the mid-1950's), that was never recorded by the band. It is a sensational piece, a real flag-waver which features alto saxophone from top to bottom. Great ensemble figures propel the soloist ever onward. This up-tempo swing chart is refreshing, with band vs soloist, great background figures, a very hip key change and excitement throughout. A wonderful feature for your hot alto saxophonist. Typical, great Holman. 5-5-5-3.

Originally arranged for George Roberts and the Stan Kenton Orchestra, Johnny Richards' treatment of the beautiful ballad Yesterdays is a bass trombone feature throughout. In typical Kenton fashion, the ensemble writing is stunning, as it dramatically interplays with the featured soloist. Never having been recorded on a Kenton album, this rare gem is a ballad that will challenge your band and astound your audiences. 5-5-5-4.
