Bruckner's Pange Lingua motet, composed in 1868 is a hymn by the thirteenth-century theologian, St. Thomas Aquinas. The setting of the simple hymn is chorale-like, with the same music used for all three verses, and a lovely Amen being added to mark its finish. The text haunted Bruckner since his early years and he wrote a few settings of it during his lifetime. The music with all of its simplicity has some unexpected dissonances. Mr. Sauer's lovely arrangement of about 3 minutes in length is appropriate for moderately advanced performers.

Bruckner's Ave Maria (WAB 7) written in 1882 for solo alto voice and organ is lush and contains a plainchant section in the middle of the A-B-A form work. Jeff Reynolds' arrangement has added an optional Contrabass part to the bottom of this splendid 4-part work for Trombone ensemble and also added tuning marks to guide performers towards perfect just ensemble tuning. This 3 minute work is appropriate for moderately advanced performers (tenor clef in part 1 and top note is a high B-flat).

Asperges me (Cleanse me, O Lord) WAB 4, is a sacred motet in 4-parts composed in 1843/44 while Bruckner was staying in Kronsdorf as an assistant school teacher. This work, beautifully arranged by Ralph Sauer in the original key of F is appropriate for moderately advanced performers.
