Edward Grieg is probably the best known of all Norwegian composers. He was one of the most important figures during the nationalistic romantic period and his music always contained the essence of this beautiful Scandinavian country. The Last Spring comes from Two Elegiac Melodies for String Orchestra and this version for brass band retains all the beauty and solemnity of the original. Evoke the peaceful atmosphere of Grieg’s native land with this beautiful haunting work.

One of Howard Goodall’s most popular choral settings Love Divine has been skilfully arranged for brass band by Andrew Wainwright with the approval of the composer. This version is based on the setting with piano and strings and can be performed as a self-standing concert work or as an accompaniment for performance by a large choir. The sparkling music from Soweto (South Africa) has a long history. The rhythmic dances of Kwela the 'syncopated guitars' of Mbaqanga the saxophones and trumpets with their supple African jazz sounds as well as the infectious and sometimes gripping choir singing. All these elements can be recognized when listening to the 'Soweto String Quartet' which in its turn inspired Peter Martin to write 'Soweto Swing'.

Les harmonisations sont passionnantes mais trouvent toujours leur résolution dans une atmosphère romantique. 5. Discoteca vous plonge dans la vie nocturne d?une discothèque espagnole. Les accords typiquement espagnols et le rythme exaltant créent un finale exubérant.
