Soli STB, SATB Choir, [2 Tr, Timp], 2 Vl, Va, Vc/Cb, organ - Level 3 SKU: CA.4067504 Erstausgabe nach den Klosterneuburger Stimmen. Composed by Franz Schubert. Edited by Bernhard Paul. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Stuttgart Schubert Edition. Messe In G-Dur (Klosterneuburg). Innovative practice aids, Sacred vocal music, Masses, Latin. Vocal score. D 167. 40 pages. Duration 25 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 40.675/04. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.4067504). ISBN 9790007187354. Key: G major. Language: Latin. Franz Schubert's Mass in G major is one of the most popular settings of the mass ordinary: the charming song-like melodic writing, especially in the Kyrie and the Credo, forms a magical counterpoint to more concertante passages in the Gloria and the Sanctus. For a long time it was thought that Schubert's final version was scored for purely string orchestra, whilst a version with wind, brass, and timpani was thought to be an expanded orchestration by his brother Ferdinand Schubert. However, since the mid-1990s it has been known that the parts for trumpets and timpani were additionally composed by Franz Schubert himself for use ad libitum. The present edition offers this Klosterneuburg Version - with trumpets and timpani ad libitum, but without Ferdinand's wind parts - in an Urtext edition reflecting Schubert's own intended orchestration. This work is available in carus music, the choir app! Score available separately - see item CA.4067500. $23.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks | | |

The two Magnificat settings (C major, ZWV 107; D major, ZWV 108) are amongst well over 30 psalm and Magnificat settings by Zelenka for Vespers services in Dresden. In contrast to the work in C major, where a soprano solo dominates over long passages, the choir has a more prominent part in this Magnificat in D major. Zelenka also heightened the festive character of the work by later adding parts for 2 trumpets and timpani. Authentic performances of the work are therefore possible with and without trumpets. SATB choir, 2 oboes, 2 clarinos/trumpets, 2 trumpets, timpani, 2 violins, basso continuo, [3 trombones colla parte] SKU: CA.5031411 Composed by Michael Haydn. Edited by Charles H. Sherman. This edition: urtext. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Johann Michael Haydn. Missa Sti Johannis Nepomuceni Mh 182. Sacred vocal music, Masses, Latin. Single Part, Violin 1. Composed 1772. MH 182. 16 pages. Duration 20 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 50.314/11. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.5031411). ISBN 9790007223786. Key: C major. Language: Latin. Haydn's Missa Sancti Joannis Nepomuceni, dated 21 May 1772, is dedicated to the Bohemian martyr and patron Saint of bridges, Johannes Nepomuk (ca. 1340-1393, canonized in 1729). Despite the addition of woodwinds and brass to the three-part string section, the Mass is in a comparatively simple, compact form as was expressly required by Count Hieronymus Colloredo, Haydn's second employer in Salzburg. Even in the final sections of the Gloria and Credo Haydn forgoes not only vocal virtuosity, but also the polyphonic artifices which traditionally characterize these passages in the Mass. Like the Missa Sancti Amandi (1776), the Nepomuk Mass does not employ vocal soloists.
