The composer has set Garrison Keillor's lovely words with sensitivity and care. Evoking the warmth, longing, and hopefulness of love. The setting allows for the choir to be driven by the natural rhythm and text stress of the poetry to shape each phrase. A beautiful love song not to be missed. Length: 5:10.

During the last summer of his life, Franz Schubert completed the Mass in E-flat D 950. The occasion for the composition of this Missa solemnis cannot be clarified with certainty. Schubert did not live to see the premiere of his sixth mass, which was first performed posthumously in 1829 under the baton of his brother Ferdinand.Among other things, the editor has paid particular attention to the articulation. In order to be able to present Schubertâ??s differentiated use of accents in the edition, a new symbol has been introduced: an accent which is flexible with regard to its length, thus making it possible to precisely visualize its compositionally intended duration.

However, this is supplemented shortly thereafter by several hungry tigers, whereupon the host sits at the end of the piece again alone on his terraceand sips with relish on his glass of wine. ISBN 9790007249243. Key: E major. Language: French. Text: Bourget, Paul.
Beau soir seems to have inspired musicians to make their own arrangements - for violin, cello, saxophone quartet, or even for five-part chamber choir and piano, as in this version by Denis Rouger. Unlike the instrumental versions, this one retains Paul Bourget's text: the poetic depiction of a sunset on a mild summer evening, on which light and shade merge into one another like the rhythm and harmony in Debussy's setting. It is not an unclouded depiction, but the recognition of our own finiteness. This art song was originally composed not for chamber choir, but for solo voice and piano. Denis Rouger has carefully adapted it to suit the requirements and expressive possibilities offered by a larger ensemble, without losing the any of the qualities of the original in the process. Each part in the choir has a melodic line drawn from the harmonic and rhythmic framework. In the process, the variety and refinement of the choral language combines with an enormous flexibility in form and expression, as French melodies or German art song demand from a soloist and pianist. The songs have been recorded by the figure humaine chamber choir on the CD Kennst du das Land ... (Carus 83.495).

What happens to a choir when the FIFA World Cup kicks off? The composer Manfred Länger, of Vienna, has written a very inventive piece about this hot topic in which he spoofs football fever in a very compact composition. The work is suitable for all choirs (mixed choir, women's or men's choir) singers who are football fanatics and those who are football grouches. Written for the World Cup 2006 in Germany, this is still THE choral piece for every football summer!
