The Vocal Score for Swiss composer Carl Rütti's De Virgine Maria is arranged here for SATB divisi chorus and Organ accompaniment. This piece was commissioned by the College for 'A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols 2014' and lasts around 3 and a half minutes. De Virgine Maria is dedicated to composer Stephen Cleobury and the Choir of King's College Cambridge. The works of?Carl Rütti has been an output of consistently beautiful choral works that are largely religious in theme. His compositions are well-known for introducing elements of jazz and blues into the English choral tradition that he traditionallyworks within. The lyrics for De Virgine Maria are in Latin. In the September 2015 issue of Organists' Review Michael Overbury writes that this work 'is most attractive for the listener celebratory fun and serious intensely joyful and lyrical.'

This interesting new take on the classic carol Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day by Swiss composer Carl Rütti formed one-third of a trio of carols that reinvigorated the old favourites with fresh and interesting musical elements. The Three Carols medley was initiated in 1996 with My Dancing Day?forming the Presto section. Carl Rütti's work blends the English choral tradition with other genres such as jazz and blues. His work defies expectations and as such this would make a great piece to perform for choirs who are perhaps tired of the traditional Christmas choral works and want to inject some freshmusical vigour into their festive repertoire. In the September 2015 issue of Organists' Review Michael Overbury writes that this piece is 'immediately accessible with typically spicy chromatic inflections.'

Carl Rütti (b. 1949) studied music at the Zürich Conservatoire. Studies in London with Kendall Taylor and Richard Latham kindled a fascination with English choral singing and inspired works for unaccompanied chorus. A steady output of mostly sacred choral music has followed including the large-scale Requiem (2007).Rütti's music blends the English choral tradition with other genres including jazz and the blues in rich colourful textures and has been performed all over the world. He has worked with notable choirs including in the UK The Bach Choir BBC Symphony Chorus Norwich Cathedral Choir and Cambridge Voices and in the USA the St Louis ChamberChorus. Many of his works have beenrecorded.He teaches piano at the Zürich Conservatoire gives concerts and recitals as a pianist and organist and is the organist of the local church in Oberägeri Zug.

Bach's nine-movement Magnificat (1749), the first great vocal work from his Berlin years, is among the most magnificent sounding, in which the solo vocal parts are also among the most ambitious settings of the 'Hymn to the Virgin Mary” (Luke 1). The work fulfills all the criteria required for a larger sacred composition: grandeur, dignity, polyphonic and concertante choral movements, sensitive ('empfindsam”) and expressive arias, a long concluding double fugue. Certains travaux tels que , Preciosa ', , Oberon , et , Euryanthe ' , les ouvertures, concertos en solo et sonates pour piano , des lieder et chambre oeuvres jouissent d'une grande popularité et ont été largement connus en Allemagne et à l'étranger aussi tard que la deuxième moitié de la 19ème siècle .
