SATB choir, keyboard accompaniment SKU: GI.G-527 Level 2. Composed by John M. Feierabend. Choral. Conversational Solfege. Music Education. Octavo. GIA Publications #527. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-527). Text by Noel Goemanne. Conversational Solfege is a dynamic and captivating first-through-eighth grade general music program that enables students to become independent musical thinkers with the help of a rich variety of folk and classical music. It is organized around increasingly complex rhythmic and melodic content. Each new rhythmic or melodic element is discovered first in patterns and then reinforced with folk songs, rhymes, and classical examples. Central to the Conversational Solfege program is the use of music harvested from our rich and diverse American musical history. This variety of music serves as a common thread that spans and bonds generations. Each book contains varied song material so the teacher can select appropriate music for the lower grades or older beginners. This 12-step teaching method carefully brings students from readiness to, ultimately, creating music through inner hearing and then transferring their musical thoughts into notation—in other words, to compose music! This CD provides 14 classical selections referenced in Conversational Solfege Level 2. These examples provide reinforcement for emerging literacy skills, and they also enable students to listen to wonderful classical examples with greater attention. Listening to classical music can be challenging for elementary students. With nothing to hang onto, the many notes can be too much to comprehend and attention soon wanes. But with minimal literacy skills, students will have enough musical information to discover that classical music can be accessible and appealing. In the included booklet, timings are given for each selection and the portions of the music that are readable by the students are reproduced. Whether using this CD with Conversational Solfege instructional materials or simply as a resource of classical music with simple to read rhythmic and melodic material, both teachers and students will delight in discovering this wonderful music through literacy. This series is a complete, innovative approach to teaching music that will stay fresh year after year. CONTENTS Conversational Solfege Unit 5: 1. Composed by Ian Callanan. Mass. Sacred. Octavo. With guitar chord names. 72 pages. GIA Publications #9822. Published by GIA Publications (GI.G-9822). UPC: 785147982203. English, Greek. Text Source: Revised Order of Mass 2010, Lectionary for Mass “We are, inescapably, filled with Ruah, the Holy Spirit, from our first breath to our last. As Paul reminds the early church in Romans 8:9 ‘you are not controlled by your sinful nature. You are controlled by the Spirit if you have the Spirit of God living in you.’ Paul is reminding us that we are filled with the Ruah of God and so should choose to live accordingly.†                                  – Ian Callanan (from the Introduction)  Drawing on the rich tradition of composer Ian Callanan’s musical background Ruah: Mass of the Breath of God is filled with Celtic themes and motifs. With the exception of the Our Father, the entire Mass is composed in the key of D, the key in which traditional Irish instruments are tuned, making the setting as accessible as possible. The recording models the sound of full Celtic instrumentation, though the setting is just as effective when simple accompaniment is used.  Ruah utilizes the Eucharistic Prayer for Children, yet the choice is by no means meant to be limiting. This is a setting composed with the entire assembly in mind, encouraging all to take a deep breath, then sing with the Ruah of God. $7.90 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 1 to 2 weeks | | |

Sacred vocal music, Cantatas. Choral Score. BWV 197. 8 pages. Duration 20 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.197/55. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3119755). ISBN 9790007186708. Language: German/English. Gott ist unsre Zuversicht BWV 197 was probably written in the second half of the 1730s for a wedding, no further details of which are known. In the opening chorus in particular, it features quite a sizeable orchestra. The text of the cantata has one major theme - trust in God! In a magnificent lullaby (movement 3) all cares are sung to sleep. The other arias, with their exceptionally exquisite combinations of scorings, make the cantata into a quite special work, albeit one which is associated with a particular occasion. The wedding cantata BWV 197 draws on older material for some of its movements. Two movements are parodies on arias from the incomplete surviving Christmas cantata Ehre sei Gott in der Hohe, BWV 197a, including the lullaby O du angenehmes Paar, of which only the last quarter survives from the Christmas cantata - it is O du angenehmer Schatz there. By using the later version, Diethard Hellmann has been able to reconstruct the original version of this dreamlike beautiful movement; however, the complete Christmas cantata cannot be reconstructed from the sources. Soli SAB, SATB Choir, 2 Ob/Obda, Fg, 3 Tr, Timp, 2 Vl, Va, Bc SKU: CA.3119769...(+)
Soli SAB, SATB Choir, 2 Ob/Obda, Fg, 3 Tr, Timp, 2 Vl, Va, Bc SKU: CA.3119769 Cantata for a wedding. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Uwe Wolf. Stuttgart Urtext Edition: Bach vocal. Complete orchestral parts. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas. Set of Orchestra Parts. BWV 197. Duration 20 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.197/69. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3119769). ISBN 9790007210564.
