With energy, drive, beauty, and reverence, Mass of Saint Catherine of Siena works well within contemporary liturgies and is appropriate for all liturgical seasons. This setting is arranged for SATB voices, piano, and guitar, reaching its fullest potential when percussion and bass are added. The harmonies, arranged by Ed Bolduc, give it fullness, yet the setting is also suitable for cantor and piano alone. Mass of Saint Catherine of Siena was written in 4/4 time intentionally to provide an alternative to the many settings available in 6/8 and its intros and outros encourage a lovely ebb and flow with the rituals of the liturgy.

The text, I Would Be True, by Howard Arnold Walter, gives new depth and meaning to this lovely tune. As is usual with music that comes from the people, or folk music, a wide range of interpretations is possible. This setting should incorporate the conductors sense of timing in the use of rubato, ritards, accelerandos, crescendos and diminuendos, all toward the end of elucidating the text to its fullest extent.

Classic hymn by Natalie Sleeth Natalie Sleeth's 'resurrection' text is magnified in Mary McDonald's superb setting, paired with the lovely tune SALLEY GARDENS. The text is filled with rich imagery and was written for Natalie's husband who was dying of cancer. The powerful culmination comes in stanza 3: 'In our end is resurrection; at the last, a victory, unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see.' Useful for memorial services and any theme of resurrection and life eternal.

A brand new setting of the Gloria from the 2010 revision of the Roman Missal! The through-composed (i.e., there is not a Gloria “refrain”) rendering offers harmonic and rhythmic interest. The trumpet is optional, but its use brings a lovely, festive color to the sound.

Andrew Walker has provided an unusual, gently undulating accompaniment for the lyrical phrases of this evening hymn.Tenors and sopranos each have the opportunity to set forth the lovely melody that first expresses the peace of this text. This is followed by a four-part setting that leads into the final section in the major mode. The anthem ends quietly with a repetition of the text, ...may rest in peace, may rest in peace. This setting moves the listener with its simplicity and gentleness and would be an excellent anthem for an evening service.
