God So Loved The World is a work for Unaccompanied SATB Divisi Chorus by renowned Welsh composer Paul Mealor. The work lasts around 4 minutes and was commissioned by the Martin Luther College Choir. The world premiere of God So Loved The World took place on February the 13th 2015 by the Martin Luther College Choir at Chapel of the Christ Martin Luther College conducted by Kermit Moldenhauer. Choral composer Paul Mealor has written a vast number of works both a cappella and with accompaniment. His work has been broadcast internationally at the 2011 RoyalWedding as well as achieving the 2011 Christmas Number One.

Reverberating with subtle nuance this artful set of breathtaking sacred texts is essential repertoire for the a cappella choir. This extremely popular anthem is one of the choruses from John Stainer's 'The Crucifixion ' a large choral work usually described as a cantata or oratorio but which the composer called 'a meditation on the sacred passion of the holy redeemer.' In ternary form with coda this Easter anthem's homophonic simplicity and its sincerity of expression have made it one of the standard works of the choral repertoire. _x000D_It can be performed by a choir of almost any size.

John Stainer's beloved classic is arranged with a fresh touch from John Leavitt. The beauty of the piece is maintained and enhanced through this new setting. Perfect for use during Lent Easter or any time during the year. Moving!
