From the composer: Written as a statement of support for, and allyship with, our Black brothers and sisters (as well as all people of color). Too often, in any aspect of life, we explain away other people’s experiences instead of seeking to understand experiences that differ from our own; we’re so busy talking about our own viewpoints that we fail to listen to the voices we most need to hear. I asked Tony Silvestri to write a text that could function as a personal statement from me to people I need to listen to—especially to my friends of color. This the text that resulted—words that speak powerfully for any situation where we need to listen to those who have been marginalized or mistreated, not heard or believed. For SATB or SSAA choir with piano and optional guitar.

British singer/songwriter Laura Mvula has crafted a song portraying the cycle of life of a female and the accompanying questions, emotions, and feelings of desperation. These emotions are captured beautifully in this arrangement for women's voices. The pop style is strong and free and a wonderful opportunity for your women's choirs to connect to these important lyrics in an arrangement that never gets in the way of the powerful emotions.

A classic poem of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and the traditional Row, Row, Row Your Boat intertwine in this free-flowing ballad that centers on the fragility of life and the persistence of time. An undulating eighth note accompaniment throughout supports the simple choral lines. This is the third movement from the composer's choral trilogy, The Sadness of the Sea (45/1151R).

Drawn from Yunnan Hani children's folk song, â??Qi Do Lei,â? the music describes the happy life of children and parents who cut down bamboo and pick up bamboo leaves. Combining traditional folk tunes with modern musical styles that we enjoy is a truly multicultural musical expression. Playful and inventive, this piece transports us to the beautiful country side of China.
