Note du compositeurCe Noël, j'ai été inspiré pour écrire un nouveau chant, bébé dans l'étal d'un boeuf qui, j'espère, capte la saison de Noël dans une joyeuse et optimiste nouvelle chanson, et crée une émotion semblable et teinte de nostalgie qui apparaît dans certains de mes chants préférés . J'ai décidé d'écrire de nouveaux mots, parce que je voulais qu'ils correspondent à la mélodie comme un gant, et faire de cette façon je pouvais écrire la mélodie d'abord.La mélodie de ce chant commence par un solo de soprano dans la clé de fa majeur chaud et fleurs progressivement en textures pleines SATB avec une soprano descant, la modulation dans les versets suivants. Il comprend un couple de fausses relations qui colorent la mélodie à certains points d'une manière un peu rebelle. J'ai toujours eu un peu d'un écolier intérieure, et je pense que cela transparaît dans ce chant. Je suis aussi un fan de la musique de Peter Warlock, et quelques-unes des altérations harmoniques, j'ai utilisé peut-être une dette de gratitude envers lui en quelque sorte. Avec le bébé dans la stalle de boeuf, j'ai créé un chant qui je l'espère peut être apprécié comme quelque chose d'un peu plus fun et épicée, comme un repas de Noël avec tous les accompagnements. / Choeur A L'Unisson Et Piano (Ou Orgue)
