The Kalamazoo Gazette described it as the “pinnacle of the concert” in which it was premiered, adding that Hazo's master composition takes the listener from “...bells and chimes to full Hosannas. The result was transfiguring! John Zdechlik's newest masterwork is based on the chant melody Pange Lingua. An introspective fantasia in three parts, Sing My Tongue, Alleluia features Zdechlik's signature lush scoring in two outer lyrical sections and a central scherzo tied together with brief statements of the original chant.

Zijn schitterende motet Exultate, Jubilate componeerde Mozart te Milaan in Italië, in het jaar 1773. Het was georkestreerd voor sopraan en gemengd koor, twee hobo’s, twee hoorns, strijkers en orgel. Het Alleluia hieruitis een zeer levendige en vreugdevolle lofzang. In deze bewerking voor harmonieorkest spelen de trompetten en trombones de koorpartijen, terwijl het hout en de overige koperinstrumenten de originele orkest- en orgelpartijen voorhun rekening nemen. Het werk wordt geleverd met optionele slagwerkpartijen.

Dieses Alleluja stammt aus der Motette Exultate, Jubilate von Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Die Instrumentation der Motette aus dem Jahr 1773 sah ursprünglich einen Sopran-Solisten, Chor, zwei Oboen, zwei Hörner, Streicher und Orgel vor. Dank der vorliegenden Bearbeitung des amerikanischen Komponisten James Curnow wird der Energie sprühende, freudige Jubelruf auch in der Interpretation Ihres Blasorchesters absolut überzeugen.

Le motet a revêtu différentes formes au cours de son évolution et a joué un rôle important dans le développement de la musique polyphonique vocale entre les XIIIe et XVIIIe siècles. En janvier 1773, Mozart séjourne Milan en compagnie de son père et y écrit une œuvre originale pour le castrat Venanzio Rauzzini : le motet Exultate, Jubilate KV 165. Cette œuvre sacrée en trois parties rappelle une véritable sinfonia italienne : la pièce suit l’ordonnancement logique Allegro - Andante - Allegro final qui se termine par l’Alleluia, somptueux témoignage de virtuosité vocale.

This piece is a joyous arrangement of the popular Kenyan song Wana Baraka. Repeating percussion patterns utilizing cowbell, claves, tom tom, and bass drum provide a solid rhythmic foundation for the catchy syncopated melody. A typical call-and-response section gives this arrangement an authentic African feel.
