Bruce Fraser has mainly used the colours green (the colour of holly) and white (the colour of snow).
This composition begins with the chiming of festive bells - if you listen well, however, you can already hear short fragments from 'The Holly and the Ivy', whose entire melody is finally played, alternated with 'The Sussex Carol'. After this, the pace slows down and the stately 'See amid the Winter Snow' sounds, but parts from 'Jingle Bells' and 'Silent Night' can also be heard.
Then, after walking under 'The Holly and the Ivy' once again, the celebration of Christmas may begin!

This flashing piece was commissioned by 'Het muziekverbond van West-Vlaanderen' and is dedicated to the 'Arlequino' youthband.Colourfully and effectfully instrumentated, this piece speeds towards its finale without any tempo changes. The chord-blocks, which characterized the introduction, unite this virtuoso piece by reappearing in the end.
Dit flitsende werk werd geschreven in opdracht van Het Muziekverbond van West-Vlaanderen en is opgedragen aan het jeugdorkest Arlequino.
Het is een effectvol en kleurrijk ge nstrumenteerd nummer, dat na een korte inleiding zonder tempoveranderingen doorraast tot het slot. De akkoordblokken die de introductie kenmerkten, komen bij het einde terug, zodat dit virtuoze werk aldus eeneenheid vormt.
Diese temperamentvolle Komposition wurde im Auftrag des Westflämischen Musikverbandes geschrieben und ist dem Jugendorchester Arlequino gewidmet. Es ist ein effektvolles und farbig instrumentiertes Werk. Die Akkordblöcke, die die Einleitungkennzeichnen, werden am Ende wieder aufgenommen, sodass diese virtuose Komposition ein Ganzes bildet.

Il s’agit d’une pièce orchestrée d’une manière colorée et pleine d’effets et qui après unbrève introduction sans changements de rythme fonce sans cesse jusqu’ la fin. Les blocs d’accords qui caractérisaient l’introduction reviennent vers la fin, de sorte que ce petit ouvrage forme ainsi une unité.
