The Adagio is based on a manuscript that was discovered in the Dresden State Library after the Second World War by Remo Giazotto, a Milanese musicologist who was working on Albinoni’s biography at the time. Only the bass line and six bars of melody were found and they probably belonged to the slow movement of a Trio Sonata. In 1945 Giazotti reconstructed the now famous Adagio which has made Albinoni known to a worldwide audience. It is widely believed that Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756-1791) wrote the Adagio in E major, K. 261 in or around 1776 as a replacement for the second movement of his Violin Concerto No. 5 in A, K. 219. The likely reason for the replacement is a complaint by Italian violinist Antonio Brunetti, recently brought to the Salzburg court orchestra by the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, Heironymus Colloredo, that the original movements was too artificial, according to a letter from Leopold Mozart. The Mozarts, finding Brunetti boorish and morally objectionable, also would have thought his complaint regarding the artificial second movement to confirm their worst opinions of Italian taste. Still, young Mozart wrote the replacement Adagio as requested, and its serene beauty in sonata form remains a fine example of his lyrical ability. Instrumentation: 2.0.0.0: 2.0.0.0: Str (4-4-3-3-3 in set): Solo Violin in set.

In Concerto dââ¬â¢Amore, a maestoso opening is followed by a quick and energetic movement that leads to a magnificent adagio. A motif from this adagio can be heard in a swinging movement, after which the piece comes to a close with the return of the adagio. This arrangement for concert band certainly brings this beautiful music to life. Picture yourself in the marvellous paradise of Italy’s Grado Lagoon. The magnificent display of colour and the salty scent of sea air combine with the fragrant tamarisk to create a unique atmosphere. In this glorious haven time stands still - except for the flight of the seagulls and the slow flood tide. From a distance you hear an adagio coming through the air from a procession of boats. Its solemn tones dissipate into the landscape of the lagoon.

Robert van Beringen chose a classical theme for this funeral march. For this reason, within the trio of this melancholy piece we find echoes of Albinoni’s Adagio which - according to the latest research was actually composed by his biographer Remo Giazotto. The Hida High School is in a highland city called Takayama in Gifu Prefecture. Takayama City has some of the highest mountains in Japan, atmospheric rows of houses and streets, and a beautiful landscape. The magnificent views from these mountains can be described as a paradise above the clouds. When the composer visited there in the summer of 2001, the lovely flowers spreading through the valley and the refreshing air welcomed him. The flowers looked as if they were fashionably dressed and fully enjoying conversation and a short summer at a reunion party. The composer was inspired by this scenery to compose this piece. The musical party opens with happy greetings of a reunion andjoyful themes follow one after another. A light xylophone solo, a waltz and an adagio featuring alternate solos by alto saxophone, euphonium and trumpet lead to a brilliant finale featuring brass and percussion played in irregular time. A beautiful musical picture that your band will enjoy performing for many years.

Based on the famous melody from the Adagio movement of the Clarinet Concerto by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, this work has a beautiful lyrical quality to it. Compositions of this nature require the ability to play with great expression. The wonderful talent and genius of Mozart is clearly perceptible in this unforgettable melody. Celebrate Mozart's 250th anniversary with this most popular brass band work.

This impressive composition includes expressive moments that range from menacing to tender, aggressive to introspective, and capricious to heroic. The multi-meter high-speed romp in the opening Allegro yields to a heartfelt, lyrical Adagio before returning to variations of the initial theme that culminate in a raucous conclusion. Everyone has melodic moments and the percussion section certainly has opportunities to shine.

The composition ".The Fever Tree". in 2008 was commissioned by the Music Association of Central and Eastern Netherlands St.Willibrord as a gift to all its members on the occasion of the formation of a national music organization and the elimination of the music union for Central and Eastern Netherlands St.Willibrord. The fever tree is a controversial legend about St. Willibrord (658-739). The daughter of a pagan chieftain of Hoemannen that made the area around Heumen unsafe, was seriously ill. They feared for her life. The chief of the gang turned to predatory Willibrord, who same time in this region led mission. Willibrord commanded theman to repent and a headband of the girl to a certain special tree to hang. The desperate captain obeyed, and his daughter was a miraculous heal. Then came the anger of the Hoemannen against their leader, who in their eyes had committed treason by the group to convert. They abused themselves to him and killed him brutally. The daughter remained behind in great sorrow, comforted by Willibrord. The composition has the following scenes: - Andante moderato - the calling of Willibrord - Allegro moderato - Willibrord passes through the province of Brabant and try to people to repent - Vivace - Hoemannen terrorize the inhabitants of the area Heumen - Andante - the healing of the sick girl and the conversion of the centurion - Inquieto - the revenge of the Hoemannen - Adagio - elegy on the death of the chief De compositie 'The Fever Tree' (De koortsboom) werd in 2008 geschreven in opdracht van de Muziekbond Midden- en Oost Nederland St.Willibrord, als geschenk aan al haar leden bij gelegenheid van de vorming van één landelijke muziekorganisatieen de opheffing van de muziekbond voor Midden- en Oost Nederland St.Willibrord. Men vreesde voor haar leven.

The young have the future. This is the statement made at the beginning of ‘Like a Child’ by Andreas Ludwig Schulte. The opening radiates strength and ambition, but one is also made to wonder which direction will be chosen, which choices will have to be made. After the introduction the first steps on the path of life are taken, still somewhat unsteadily (the 3/4th time used illustrates this uncertainty). However, the child has now set off and will meet the future with an open mind, unafraid, even though experience will teach it how easily it can be hurt.Fortunately, it is sometimes allowed to be vulnerable and it discovers there will always be someone to offer shelter, support and love. (Adagio) The last part breathes a far greater independence. Youth is able to face the future, it can even take on the whole world!

Quelle der Inspiration waren u. a. arabische Märchen.
