This number topped the U.S. chart as the lead release single from Bad. Siedah Garrett, who sang the duet, was a protégé of Quincy Jones with whom Michael tag-teamed for three solos on Off the Wall. (Garrett is also renowned as one of the writers of the song Man in the Mirror,â? the fourth single which carries a strong message.) Japanese fans still remember this song being performed as an encore during the Bad World Tour in 1987. The straightforward, sweet love song starts out quietly and gradually takes on heat, unfolding a wonderful musical sentiment. The performance of the arranged version also strikes the audience with an imposing world of sound comparableto that of a full orchestra. I Just Canâ??t Stop Loving You was de eerste single van het album Bad. The inspiration for this three-part work goes back to the International European Youth Wind Music Festival, of which the patron has been Jacob de Haan several times. It begins in a festive march tempo, then sacred music, instrumental groups playing off_x001E_stage and a little march for brass and _x001D_flutes. The third movement is a parade in which the various sections of the ensemble head towards the stage from different directions. Even without the effective choreography of the musicians, Call of the Valley is an impressive concert band composition. Call of the Valley s’ouvre sur un tempo festif en forme de marche. Jubilate’s main theme comes from the Gregorian chant on the Psalm Jubliate Deo omnis terra. The work itself was inspired by the sacredhistory of the Waldkirch (a forest village) community, located on the Swiss/German boarder. It tells a tale of the Irish and Scottish monks who build the first wooden church at the site of what is now Waldkirch, of the dramatic events, good and bad, that have taken place over the centuries and of the flourishing community that has withstood the trials of time.

Among the most frequently performed and well-known of P. I. Tchaikovsky's (1840-1893) works, The Year 1812, Solemn Overture, Op. 49 (more commonly known as the 1812 Overture) was written in 1880 to commemorate the 1812 defeat of Napoleon's invading French army by the Russians. Despite the composer's lack of enthusiasm about the project at its inception, claiming that he wrote it without any warm and loving feelings, Tchaikovsky acknowledged later that he did well in its composition, saying I absolutely do not know whether my overture (The Year 1812) is good or bad, but I rather think it is the former (pardon my immodesty). It premiered on August 20, 1882, in Moscow at the Art & Industry Exhibition, Ippolit Altani conducting. Famous for its use of cannons in the Finale, the Finale also calls for the inclusion of a military brass band, which is labelled as open instrumentation in the original. This edition by Martin Schmeling spells out specific instrumentation options for the banda.
