AGNES is a perfect choice for the smaller ensemble looking for more of a musical challenge. The setting is straightforward, but careful attention is required to bring out the melody. A verse in minor with the melody on chimes provides aural contrast, and a final triumphant verse brings the piece to a satisfying conclusion.
