Arranged for Harp-Say Something is an original song by the American duo A Great Big World. The lyrics are about letting go when a relationship ends. It became an international hit when Christina Aguilera joined A Great Big World on a re-recorded version in 2013. Sylvia Woods has made a 4-page advanced beginner to intermediate arrangement playable on either lever or pedal harp. This music features a pedal point (also called a pedal note or pedal tone) which is a sustained or continually repeated note that is held constant while harmonies change in other parts. A pedal point is usually found in the bass but here it is in the middle register. Virtually every measure includes a middle Cnote on the downbeat. Sometimes it is played with the right hand and at other times with the left. But it is almost always there. This pedal point harmony is what originally drew me into this beautiful piece of music the first time I heard it on the radio. The music is in the key of C and no sharping levers are required as there are no lever changes. Fingerings lyrics and chord symbols are included. The harp range required is 24 strings from a low C up to an E. It can be played on 24-string to 26-string harps with a C as the lowest string if you play both hands an octave higher than written.

Recueil Harpe-Six Short Pieces is a set of short works for Harp composed by Henriette Renié. It includes chords arpeggios a few accidental alterations and some natural harmonics. Henriette Renié (1875-1956) is a French harpist who hadAlphonse Hasselmans and Théodore Dubois as professors at the Paris Conservatoire. She received a First Prize for the Harp and composed many pieces for Harp including a concerto some chamber music works and some transcriptions of other works for the Harp.

Arranged for Lever or Pedal Harp-Sylvia Woods has included two harp arrangements of Ed Sheeran's “Perfect” in this folio. Both versions can be played on either lever harp or pedal harp. The first arrangement (pages 1 through 6) is the complete piece. The shorter two-page version on pages 7 and 8 includes only the first verse. Written by François Joseph Naderman (1781-1835) Sonatinas Progressive Op. 92 consists of a series of seven small sonatas. The level of difficulty alternates between intermediate and advanced as these can be played at different speeds but necessitates some strong technique as well as some pedal changes. These Sonatinas Progressive Op. 92 are still considered as some of the most famous pieces of the Harp repertoire today. François Joseph Naderman was a classical harpist composer and teacher at the Paris Conservatoire. His vocation was developed by growing up as the son of a LuthierHarp maker. Taking up the Viola and Oboe in his teens he later went to the University College of North Wales (Bangor) where he studied composition with among others William Matthias and Reginald Smith Brindle. Gaining a B. Mus. (hons) degree in 1960 he returned to his old school in Richester to teach class and instrumental music. Four years later he enlisted as oboist to the Band of HM Coldstream Guards which opened many doors including performances of his compositions and arrangements in many National venues on discand broadcast by the BBC on Radios 2 & 3. His years at Bangor had enabled him to fulfil a childhood dream of learning the Harp which he was later able to develop when he left the army and moved with his wife Sue and young family to Lowestoft as a peripatetic woodwind tutor for Suffolk County Music Service. His Flights Of Fancy and Blistering Along! appear on ABRSM and Trinity College Harp examination syllabuses while the Spartan Press publication Saxofun is on Suffolk's own exam syllabus. Since 1999 Stewart has been senior Woodwind Tutor for Suffolk and since 2002 Harp tutor as well! Stewart's recent publication She'll Be Comin' Round The Mountain was written for the North Suffolk String Orchestra as was Haunted House. Spookily this received its first performance at Lowestoft accompanied by a July Thunderstorm!

Starting with a main theme of arpeggiated chords the piece then follows with a number of variations including chords arpeggios glissandos and numerous nuances and speed variations. The piece starts in Allegro moderato then evolving to Allegretto Allegretto Scherzando sometimes more energetic or quieter. The first volume of Couperin's Harpsichord Pieces does not contain a date of publication however it is thought to have been composed during 1716-1717 due to the address which the composer gave on his other Harpsichord compositions. Yet the compilation remains a favourite. François Couperin (1668-1733) is often nicknamed 'Couperin the Great' to distinguish him from other members of the musical family. Many of the composer's works have picturesque titles. Examples of this in his first volume of Pieces for Harpsichord include Les Papillons (The Butterflies) L'Enchanteresse (The Enchanting) and LesPlaisirs de Saint Germain en Laÿe (The Pleasures of Saint Germain en Laÿe). Couperin's moods are expressed through choices of keys adventurous harmonies and discords.
