Duphly's Harpsichord Pieces is in two volumes and the compilation remains a favourite in the Harpsichord repertoire. Jacques Duphly (1715-1789) studied the Harpsichord and Organ as a boy becoming a virtuoso of both instruments. In addition to these two contemporary versions this edition also contains an arrangement by the editor for Harpsichord or Organ based on the first edition. Though both early sources explicitly mention a Harpsichord the arrangements can also be performed effectively note-for-note on the Organ. As the surviving anonymous version merely places a solo part and a figured Bass on a two-stave system our edition is accompanied by performance material with one part each for transverse Flute/Oboe/Violin and Violoncello/Double Bass plus a figured Bass realisation.

Harpsichord work - Volume 4 LP.24 by Francois Couperin is the fourth in a series of 4 volumes of suites for Harpsichord. Published in 1930 three years before Couperin’s death when he was very ill this volume initially presented some small mistakes and some white pages. It features seven Ordres from the 20th to the 27th with a total of 43 pieces. For upper-intermediate players this volume was edited by Kenneth Gilbert. François Couperin was a very famous French composer who played the Harpsichord the Organ. Coming from a famous family of musicians he was nicknamed“Couperin le Grand” ('Couperin the Great').

Harpsichord/Cembalo Part for George Frideric Handel's Concerto Grosso In G Op.6 No.1. The Concerti Grossi Op.6 HWV 319-330 are 12 concerti for solo instruments (usually Violins and Cello) accompanied by a four-part string orchestra and Cembalo conintuo. Originally published in 1739 they were written to be played during performances of Handel's oratorios and odes and are amongst the finest examples in the genre of Baroque concerto Grosso.
