From his album Night Flight Sammy Nestico has put a new light on this great standard transforming it into an ensemble showcase that just doesn't let up. There are solos for alto and trumpet and some nice places for the drummer to show his stuff. Great opener!

It's not very often that you see the name Mozart appears on a jazz chart! Mark Taylor cranks up the creative juices as he features a light samba groove on a familiar classical theme. Slipping into a swing style on occasion thisattractive setting features nicely scored ensemble passages solos for tenor and drums and a unison chorus for the full ensemble.

This jazz fusion classic by Chick Corea was recorded by Stan Getz in 1972 and also by Chick Corea with his group Return to Forever on the landmark album Light as a Feather. In this exciting version for mature jazz ensembles Mike Tomaro retains the highly energetic samba feel of the original while adding some creative touches of his own. Solos for trumpet and alto are featured.

Commissioned by the US Army Jazz Ambassadors this arrangement by Eric Richards shines new light on the beauty and depth of the classic Beatles hit. An up-tempo Brazilian groove gives way to hints of samba and songo but alwayswith a smooth and laidback feel. Piano solo is featured off the top followed by a trio of tenor trombone and guitar on the head and later solo space for one or more of these players. A brief nod to the classical feel of theoriginal Beatles track helps build to aclimactic shout for the full ensemble. Nice!
