It is performance music that works with flexible instrumentation requiring as few as four horns and piano, bass and drums. Each piece includes a CD with the full performance as well as solo practice tracks. All the rhythm section parts are fully notated and include chord symbols. This swing chart correlates with Jazz Basics, Unit 5 and with Jamey Aebersold's great play-along Volume 1: Jazz: How to Play and Improvise. It incorporates the same FMI - Ebmi - Dmi chord sequence that is the basis for much of Jamey's first volume.
