Medium voice and organ - difficult SKU: HL.49044612 For medium voice and organ. Composed by Bertold Hummel. This edition: Saddle stitching. Sheet music. Vocal. Softcover. Composed 2000. Op. 103g. 22 pages. Duration 9'. Schott Music #ED21338. Published by Schott Music (HL.49044612). ISBN 9790001187282. 9.0x12.0x0.099 inches. Latin. The rushing of the Holy Spirit to which the hymn 'Veni creator' refers is symbolized by fast semiquaver runs of the organ which return again and again during the whole piece. Alternately, the text is interpreted musically in seven verses according to the respective content. Traditional melodies appear in a contemporary harmonic makeup. From this context emerges a field of tension between old and new which eventually dissolves in the 'Amen' of the vocal soloist. The work on the rather demanding piece is rewarding for every performer and the performance at the church is very impressive. $15.99 - See more - Buy online

Its bears the subtitle Lament on the Loss of Musical Thought - some Madrigals for Solo Flute or Flute with any other Instruments. This serves as a playing instruction but doubles at the same time as an outmoded programme: it refers back to the musical origin of the opening lamenting motif, a tradition which was once of its time but is not of our time - namely the Lamento genre which gave the title to the Chaconne in Purcell's opera Dido and Aeneas. Almost simultaneously I wrote a second version for Piano (for Piano one-and-a-half hands), which already formulates possible approaches for the performer, in some detail, to the indicated, quasi-canonic version of the piece in the programme. The multiple version Ein Hauch von Unzeit III realizes a concrete version of a formal state which floats between strict canon and aleatoric principles: each of the musicians who are spread throughout the hall introduces their own idiomatic translation of the flute part. And so the music exists, omnipresent, not only spatially throughout the hall, but also formally in a sort of fluctuating simultaneity. For that reason, it was my express wish to any potential interpreter that they should construct entirely their own version of the piece. A healthy number of musicians have responded to my suggestion - versions of the piece have now been made for guitar (Cornelius Schwehr, Gunther Schneider), accordion (Hugo Noth), double bass (Fernando Grillo), violin (Hansheinz Schneeberger), viola, violoncello, and double bass (trio basso, Koln), violoncello (Michael Bach), trombone (Andrew Digby) and, created by myself, a sung version for voice (to words by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel und Max Bense), and for viola. The most important requirement for the whole piece is absolute stillness, which should as far as possible emanate from the performer. The pauses are occasionally in this respect the most important element. These may, if one can find the necessary stillness, become very long.Ein Hauch von Unzeit (A Breath of the Untimely) - time almost dissolves!(Klaus Huber, 1989/2014 - translation: David Alberman)CD:Jean-Luc Menet (Bass flute)CD Traversieres 120.270Jean-Luc Menet (fl)CD STR 37039Bibliography:Zimmermann, Heidy: Zeitgestaltung im Kompositionsprozess bei Klaus Huber - dargestellt anhand von Skizzen, in: Mnemosyne. The title Missa Cellensis (later also known as the Cecilian Mass) and the date of an autograph score suggest that this work was probably commissioned by Prince Nicolaus Esterhazy for the 600th anniversary of the pilgrimage church Mariazell located in Styria. Orchestra SB voice soli, 2 Oboes, Taille (English Horn), Violin solo, Strings, Organ - Level 3 SKU: CA.3105807 Cantata for the Sunday after New Year. Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Edited by Reinhold Kubik. Arranged by Paul Horn. This edition: Paperbound. Sacred vocal music, Cantatas, New year. Study score. Composed 1733/1734. BWV 58. 56 pages. Duration 17 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 31.058/07. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.3105807). ISBN 9790007043216. Key: C major. Language: German/English. The cantata O God, what glut of care and pain BWV 58, which Bach subtitled Dialogus and wrote for the Sunday after New Year, limits itself accordingly to the dialog couple consisting of soprano and bass; further soloists or a choir are not required. In the framing movements, the dialog takes on the form of a chorale arrangement: the soprano presents a cantus firmus whose words are consolingly commented on by the bass. Both the expansive chorale arrangements leave room for an aria which is framed by two recitatives. The cantata was composed for the Sunday after New Year 1727, but the received form is from a subsequent performance that took place six or seven years later. For this performance, Bach not only expanded the instrumentation but also replaced an entire aria. Later, he assigned the cantata to his annual cycle of chorale cantatas, probably due to its high proportion of chorales; this Sunday was missing in that annual cycle as there was no Sunday between New Year and Epiphany in 1725. SSB choir and organ SKU: CA.2101903 Composed by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Edited by Inge Forst. Arranged by Paul Horn. French Sacred Music. German title: In circumcisione Domini. Cantatas, Christmas. Full score. H 316. Duration 5 minutes. Carus Verlag #CV 21.019/03. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2101903). ISBN 9790007161446. Language: Latin. Marc-Antoine Charpentier not only originated the Eurovision Melody, rather he also made an important contribution to French sacred music from the baroque with his oratorios, motets and cantatas. The four cantatas for the season of Christmas (CV 21.019-21.022) are now published in first editions. The Latin texts of these works for Christmas, the New Year, Epiphany, and the Purification are based on the accounts of the Gospels, which are paraphrased in the form of poetic texts. As in Charpentier's extensive Histoires sacrees, the musical structure is oratorical, with a part for the evangelist and texts spoken directly by biblical personages and groups of people (angels, Herodes, shepherds, wise men). In each work the vocal scoring includes two sopranos and a bass (those passages where a number of voices sing together can be performed either by soloists or by a choir). With this uniform scoring it would be meaningful to perform these works as a cycle, in the manner of a small Christmas oratorio. Soprano voice, SATB chorus divisi, Organ - Grade 4 SKU: CA.2741045 Arrangement for soloists, choir and organ (arr. M. Popp). Composed by Anton Bruckner. Arranged by Marius Popp. Gattungen vokal: Sacred vocal music. Full Score. WAB 38. Duration 9 minutes. Carus Verlag #2741045. Published by Carus Verlag (CA.2741045). ISBN 9790007300029. Key: C major. German/English. Bruckner described his setting of Psalm 150 (1892) as “my best festive cantata of allâ€. With its monumental Halleluja theme and the great fugue on “Alles, was Odem hat, lobe den Herrnâ€, the psalm setting has a pronounced festive character.
For this edition, Marius Popp has transcribed the orchestral writing for organ. Originally scored for large orchestra and large choir, this festive cantata can now also be performed by smaller choral forces in a sacred space. The fascinating combination of filigree motifs, powerful passages and chromatically bold complexities are expressed in a completely new way in this arrangement. An exciting setting of one of the most popular psalms for more experienced choirs to perform in festive church services or concerts.
The vocal and choral scores from the original version (also available as Carus 27.410/00) can be used with the organ version. . Score available separately - see item CA.2741000. $35.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

A good six years following its first performance in Milan (1773) a second version of Exsultate, jubilate was completed for a performance on Trinity Sunday in 1779. It has survived in a manuscript from Salzburg. This Salzburg version, which was discovered in 1978, differs from the Milan version primarily through the use of flutes instead of oboes and also through the use of two different texts for the first aria. In the first version the text refers to Christmas, whereas in the second version it refers to the festival of Trinity. Mozart's autograph of the Milan version had been thought to be missing since the second world war and it has only been accessible in the Biblioteka Jagiellonska in Krakow for a little over a decade. The present new critical edition by Wolfgang Hochstein is the first which could be based on both versions.
